Read the following :
1. From the Deputy Commissioner ( Fisheries ) , Government of India , Lr.No.30035 / 15 / 97 - Fy (T - 1 ) /Ind , Ministry of Fisheries , Animal Husbandry and Dairying , Department of Fisheries , New Delhi , dated: 30.03.2023 .
2. From the Commissioner of Fisheries , A.P. , Vijayawada , Letter No.112 / J1 / 2023 , dated 31.03.2023 .
ORDER:
In the reference first read above , the Government of India , Ministry of Fisheries , Animal Husbandry and Dairying , Department of Fisheries , New Delhi have issued orders imposing uniform ban on fishing by all fishing vessels in the Indian Exclusive Economic Zone ( EEZ ) beyond territorial waters on the East Coast from 15th April to 14th June , 2023 (both days inclusive ) ( 61 days ) including Andaman and Nicobar Islands and West Coast from 1st June to 31st July 2023 ( both days inclusive ) ( 61 days) including Lakshadweep Islands for conservation and effective management of fishery resources and also for sea safety reasons . The traditional non - motorised units shall be exempted from this uniform fishing ban imposed in the Indian EEZ beyond territorial waters .
2 . Government have been implementing the closure of season on Marine Fishing under APMFR Act , 1994 for 61 days from 15th April to 14th June , every year ( inclusive of both days ) as directed by the Government of India for conservation and effective management of fishery resources and also for sea safety reasons .
3 . In the reference second read above , the Commissioner of Fisheries , A.P. , Vijayawada , have requested the Government to issue suitable orders in exercise of the powers conferred by sub section ( 2 ) of section 4 of the Andhra Pradesh Marine Fishing ( Regulation ) Act , 1994 , ( Act 9 of 1995 ) , to prohibit the Fishing operations by different Mechanized Fishing Vessels and those fishing crafts fitted with outboard as well as inboard engine (Motarized Fishing Boats ) excluding the Non Motarized Traditional Fishing Crafts in the Territorial waters along the entire coast of Andhra Pradesh during the period from 15th April to 14th June , 2023 i.e. , for 61 days ( both days inclusive ) .
4. Government after careful examination of the matter , hereby issue the following notification which will be published in the next Extra- ordinary issue of Andhra Pradesh Gazette : -
NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred by Sub - section ( 2 ) of Section 4 of the Andhra Pradesh Marine Fishing ( Regulation ) Act , 1994 (Act 9 of 1995 ) , Government hereby prohibit the fishing operations by different Mechanised fishing vessels and those fishing crafts fitted with outboard as well as inboard engine ( Motorized fishing boats ) excluding the Non motorized traditional fishing crafts in the territorial waters along the entire coast of Andhra Pradesh during the period from 15th April to 14th June , 2023 i.e. , for 61 days ( both days inclusive ) .
