BIENNIAL ELECTIONS TO THE ANDHRA PRADESH LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL FROM LOCAL AUTHORITIES' CONSTITUENCIES – NOTIFICATION UNDER SECTION 74 OF THE REPRESENTATION OF THE PEOPLE ACT, 1951 REGARDING THE NAMES OF MEMBERS ELECTED TO THE COUNCIL – PUBLISHED.

The following notification dated: 2nd May, 2023 is published:-
NOTIFICATION
Whereas, in pursuance of the Notification issued by the Governor of Andhra Pradesh on 16.02.2023 under section 16 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (Central Act No 43 of 1951), for Biennial Elections to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council for (7) members from (6) Local Authorities' Constituencies i.e., one Member each from Nellore, East Godavari, Srikakulam, Chittoor, Kurnool and Two Members from West Godavari Local Authorities' Constituencies for the purpose of filling up the 7 seats of the members of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council, who are retiring on the 1st May, 2023 on the expiration of their term of office;
And whereas, the Election Commission of India has issued Notification on 16.02.2023 under sections 30 and 56 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (Central Act No 43 of 1951) fixing the schedule for said election;
2 ANDHRA PRADESH GAZETTE EXTRAORDINARY [PART-VAnd whereas, the poll has been held for West Godavari, Srikakulam and Kurnool Local Authorities' Constituencies for electing Four (4) members on 13.03.2023 and the counting of votes has been taken on 16.03.2023. The Returning Officers have declared the result after counting of votes;
Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 74 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (Central Act No 43 of 1951), the Government of Andhra Pradesh hereby notify the names of the members elected for the said Council Constituencies along with their party affiliation below:
