Read the following:
1. The Maintenance and Welfare of Parents & Senior Citizens Act , 2007 (Central Act . No.56 of 2007 ) .
2. The Andhra Pradesh Maintenance of Parents and Senior Citizens Rules , 2011 .

ORDER:
Whereas vide reference 1st read above , Government of India have enacted the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act , 2007 ( Central Act No.56 of 2007 ) for Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens ;
2. And whereas , vide reference 2nd read above , the State Government have notified the Andhra Pradesh Maintenance of Parents and Senior Citizens Rules , 2011 in exercise of the powers conferred by sub section ( 1 ) read with sub section ( 2 ) of Section 32 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act , 2007 ;
3 . And whereas rule 23 of said Rules , provide for the State Government , by order , to establish a District Committee of Senior Citizens for each district to advise on effective and coordinated implementation of the Act at the district level , and to perform such other functions in relation to senior citizens at the district level ;
4. And whereas the Director , Welfare of Differently Abled , Transgender and Senior Citizens , A.P. , Vijayawada vide reference 3rd read above has submitted proposals for establishment of District Committee of Senior Citizens for each district to advise on effective and coordinated implementation of the Act at the district level ;

Now , therefore , Government after careful examination of the matter and in exercise of the powers conferred under section 23 of the Andhra Pradesh Maintenance of Parents and Senior Citizens Rules , 2011 , hereby direct the Collectors and District Magistrates in the state to establish District Committees of Senior Citizens in each District as required under Rule 23 ( 2) of the said rules , to advise on effective and coordinated implementation of the Act at the district level and to perform such other functions in relation to senior citizens at the district level , as the State Government may specify.
6. The Director , Welfare of Differently Abled , Transgender and Senior Citizens Department A.P. , shall monitor establishment of District level Committees and coordinate in their effective functioning .
