Read the following :
1. The Maintenance and Welfare of Parents & Senior Citizens Act , 2007 .
2. The Andhra Pradesh Maintenance of Parents and Senior Citizens Rules , 2011.

ORDER :
Whereas vide reference 1st read above , the GoI have enacted the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act , 2007 ( Central Act No. 56 of 2007 ) to provide for effective provisions for the maintenance and welfare of parents and senior citizens guaranteed and recognized under the Constitution of India and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto ;
2. And whereas vide reference 2nd read above , the State Government , in exercise of the powers conferred by sub section ( 1 ) read with sub section ( 2 ) of section 32 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act , 2007 have notified ' The Andhra Pradesh Maintenance of Parents and Senior Citizens Rules , 2011 ' ;
3. And whereas , the Director , Welfare of Differently Abled Transgender & Senior Citizens , A.P. , Vijayawada has submitted proposals for constitution of the State Council of Senior Citizens to advise the State Government on effective implementation of the Act and to perform such other functions in relation to senior citizens as the State Government may specify ;
4. Now , therefore , Government of Andhra Pradesh , in exercise of powers conferred under Rule 22 of the Andhra Pradesh Maintenance of Parents and Senior Citizens Rules , 2011 , constitute the State Council of Senior Citizens ;
(Ρ.Τ.Ο) 5. Accordingly , the following Notification will be published in an extraordinary issue of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette dt : 04.05.2023 .
NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred under Rule 22 of the Andhra Pradesh Maintenance of Parents and Senior Citizens Rules , 2011 , the Governor of Andhra Pradesh , hereby constitute the State Council of Senior Citizens with the following Members:

Chairperson, ex-officio Hon'ble Minister for Women , Children , Differently Abled & Senior Citizens
ii . Secretary / Principal Secretary / Special Chief Secretary of the Departments of :
a . Women , Children , Differently Abled & Senior Citizens Department .
b . Medical , Health & Family Welfare Department .
c. Home Department
d . General Administration Department ( Information & Public Relations)
Members, ex -officio e . Panchayat Raj & Rural Development Department
f . Finance Department
g . Law Department
h . Civil Supplies Department
i . Transport , Roads & Buildings Department

Member/ Convener Commissioner / Director in - charge of the Senior Citizens Welfare in the State
(Cont ... 3) The Chairperson may nominate any other suitable person as a Special Invitee to the Council , either for a individual meeting or for a specified period .
The tenure of the members , other than ex - officio members of the State Council shall be for a period of 2 years or till further orders of the Government whichever is earlier .
The State Council shall meet at least once in six months to advise the State Government on effective implementation of the Act and Rules and to perform such functions in relation to Parents and Senior Citizens as may be specified by the State Government .
The Director , Welfare of Differently Abled , Transgender & Senior Citizens , A.P. , shall take necessary action accordingly .
