MA&UD Department – Removal of Sri T.Kishore from the Office of the Chairperson, Macherla Municipality for abusing the powers vested on the post of Chairperson and for violating the Section 16 (1)(k) of AP Municipalities Act, 1965 - Notification - Issued.

NOTIFICATION
Whereas, the Commissioner & Director of Municipal Administration, AP., Vaddeswaram, in letter Lr.Rc.No.13021/79/2024/H, dt.05.02.2025 has informed that, Sri T. Kishore, Chairperson, Macherla Municipality is absent at present and not attended for 15 council meetings continuously w.e.f. 8/23 without any valid permissions/approvals and also that, at present, he is under arrest by the police department and requested to issue necessary instructions in this regard.
In view of the above circumstances reported by the C&DMA, AP, Government, following due procedure, have issued show cause notice to Sri T.Kishore, Chairperson, Macherla Municipality requesting him to show cause in terms of Section 60(2) of AP Municipalities Act, 1965 as to why action shall not be taken for removing him from the Office of Chairperson, Macherla Municipality as per Section 60(1) of AP Municipalities Act, 1965 for abusing the powers vested on the post of Chairperson and for violating the Section 16 (1)(k) of AP Municipalities Act, 1965 and requested him to submit his explanation in writing to the Government within a period of 15 days from receipt of this Show Cause Notice, failing which further necessary action will be contemplated based on the available material as per provisions of the AP Municipalities Act, 1965 and rules in force.
Whereas, the C&DMA, AP, in his letter dt.08.05.2025, has informed that the Municipal Commissioner, Macherla Municipality in his letter dt.28.04.2025 has submitted that, the officials of Macherla Municipality have visited Sri T.Kishore's house to serve the Show Cause notice and found it to be door locked. Further, the officials of Municipality //2// called the individual, but did not get any response from him. Accordingly, the Commissioner, Macherla Municipality has followed Section 353 of AP Municipalities Act1965 for serving the Show Cause Notice issued by the Government to Sri T.Kishore, Chairperson, Macherla Municipality. Further, the Municipal Commissioner, Macherla Municipality has submitted that, after completion of 15 days of time, no written explanation is received from Sri T.Kishore, Chairperson, Macherla Municipality as on 28.04.2025.
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso under Section 60(1)of AP Municipalities Act, 1965, Government hereby remove Sri T. Kishore, from the office of Chairperson, Macherla Municipality, with immediate effect, for being continuously absent and not attending to 15 council meetings w.e.f. dt.10.08.2023 without any valid permissions/approvals and thus abusing the powers vested in post of Chairperson and for disobeying/violating the Section 16 (1)(k) of AP Municipalities Act, 1965.
