NOTIFICATION
The 26th March, 2026
No. HOME-12023/12/2024/256.—In compliance with the judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in Writ Petition (C) No. 1082 of 2020, Suhas Chakma vs. Union of India and Ors., dated 26th February, 2026, the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh is pleased to constituted a Monitoring Committee for the State.
The Said Committee will constitute of the following Officials ;

| 3. | Supdt. of Prisons | Member |
The Monitoring Committee shall :
(a) Ensure Compliance with the directions issued by the Hon'ble Supreme Court;
(b) Overseeing the functioning, utilization and expansion of OCIs;
(c) Facilitate the timely identification and transfer of eligible prisoners from closed prisons to OCIs; and (d) Periodically reviewing progress and addressing systematic impediments in the implementation of the directions issued by the Hon'ble Supreme Court.
