No.GAG(A)81/2016/165.- In continuation of this Department's Notification No. GAG(A)81/2016/151, dated 26th December, 2016 the Governor of Assam is pleased to declare Public Holiday on 23rd August, 2017 under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881(XXIV of 1881) read with the Government of India, Ministty of Home Affairs Notiflcation No.20/25/Pub-I dated 8th June, 1957 on account of TIthi of Srimanta Shankardeva.

All the Financial Institution/Cooperative Banks etc. within the State of Assam will remain closed on account of this Public Holiday under N.I. Act.
