No.TTWD.44/2018/3 : During discussion on Amendment in the Regulation of Admission into 1st year MBBS/BDS Courses in its meeting held on 1st June, 2018, Hon'ble Cabinet observed that in some cases non-deserving students have been availing benefits of reserved seats in Medical / Dental/Engineering Colleges / Polytechnics and other Educational Institutions which are actually meant for Tea Tribes students; Whereas, Hon'ble Cabinet directed the Tea Tribes Welfare Department (TTWD) to constitute a Committee to suggest measures to identify the students / candidates / categories who would be eligible for availing such seats reserved for Tea Tribes community.
Therefore, in view of the above, the Governor of Assam is pleased to constitute a Committee consisting of the following members detailed below:-

The Terms of Reference of the Committee are as follows:
1. To verify the credentials of the students who availed the seat reservation meant for Tea Tribes Students in Higher Education Institutions such as Medical Colleges (MBBS/BDS), Government Engineering Colleges, Government Polytechnics, Agriculture University, Cooperation University, Food Craft Institute, Chamaguri, or any other State / Central Govt. institution.
2. To review the process of Admissibility for availing reservation meant for Tea Tribes Community for assessing the genuineness of the candidates admitted.
3. To suggest measures / changes / amendments in certain rules / regulations / procedures to identify eligible tea tribe candidates for availing reserved seats meant for tea tribes community.
4. To suggest action against the persons involved in any wrongdoings in allotment of reserved seats to non-eligible students.
The committee shall be in existence and work as per Terms of Reference for a period not exceeding three years.
