The service rendered by Shri Siba Prasad Sarmah as Assistant Commissioner of Taxes for the period w.e.f. the date of taking over charge as Assistant Commissioner of Taxes in pursuance of Government Notification No.FTX.178 /2000/Pt- III / 237 , dtd . 28.3.2011 to 30.6.2013 will be treated as officiating capacity.
Further, the promotion order shall be subject to final orders of the Hon'ble High Court in WP (C) 5469/2011 and WP ( C ) 657/2014 .
This issue in pursuance of decision of the Review Departmental Selection Committee in its meeting held on 26.6.2020 .
The inter - se - seniority of the above mentioned officer will be fixed later on .

No. UDD ( M ) 96 /2020 /24.- In exercise of power as conferred under clause ( b) of Sub- Section ( 1 ) ofSection 4 ofthe Assam Municipal Act . 1956, the Governor ofAssam is pleased to include the contiguous areas , as entered in the Revenue Records described below, into the Sarupathar Municipal Board . Further, underthe Sectin 13 ofthe Act and also in consideration of the resolution adopted in the meeting of Sarupathar Municipal Board held on 12th March , 2020 , it is proposed to re - arrange the wards ofthe proposed Municipal Board as shown below. It is also intended to categorize the proposed Sarupathar Municipal Board with new population of 20,061 as Category III (population range : 20,001 to 50,000 ) in place of earlier Category V under Section 4 ( 1 ) (e) of the Assam Municipal (Amendment ) Act, 2017.
Any inhabitant ofany part ofthe areas described below or any rate payer of the Sarupathar Municipal Board may submit his objection to the proposal or anything contained in this Notification to the State Government through the Deputy Commissioner, Golaghat in writing within the period of 42 ( forty two) days from the date ofpublication of this Notification in Assam Gazette for consideration and for finally deciding the matter.

No. HMA (APS ) 1444 /41. - Whereas , a report of the Superintendent of Police , Jorhat vide Memo No. JHT/V/ 2/2020/ 2098 dated 16/06/2020 as forwarded by the District Magistrate , Jorhat vide No.JMJ.25/2020/ 5 dated 17/06/2020 on the incident relating to the death of Shri Jayanta Borah allegedly in police custody , has been received;
Whereas , the deceased Shri Jayanta Borah . S/o Mrs. Lila Borah , Vill- Block No.5 , Kakodonga Habi Gaon , PS- Borholla, Dist . - Jorhat had died allegedly in police custody;
Whereas , there has been gross negligence of duty by Shri Amit Kumar Hojai , APS , Sub-Divisional Police Officer , Titabor in the above incident ;
Now, therefore , the Governor of Assam is satisfied that it is necessary and in the interest of public service to place Shri Amit Kumar Hojai , APS , Sub - Divisional Police Officer , Titabor , under suspension with effect from 18/06/2020 pending drawal of departmental proceedings .
Accordingly , the Governor of Assam is pleased to place Shri Amit Kumar Hojai , APS , Sub -Divisional Police Officer , Titabor, under suspension under Rule 6 ( 1 ) of the Assam Services (Discipline & Appeal ) Rules , 1964 with effect from 18/06/2020.
Shri Amit Kumar Hojai , APS is allowed to draw subsistence allowances as admissible under provision of Rule 53 (ii ) ( a ) of the FRs and SRs subject to production of non -employment certificate under sub Rule (2 ) of F.R.53 . During the period of suspension , his Headquarters will be o/o the Superintendent of Police , Jorhat.
