No. HC.VII-95/2016/9477/A.- In supersession of earlier notifications regarding entitlement of vacations by the Judicial Officers of Assam, the Hon'ble Gauhati High Court has been pleased to notify the entitlement of vacations in the following manner:

(a) The District & Sessions Judges are entitled to avail the Long Vacation (Puja Vacation) and Winter Vacation for the whole period.

(b) The Principal Judges of Family Courts, Counselors of Family Courts are entitled to avail half of the Long Vacation (Puja Vacation) and Winter Vacation (on roster duty basis).

(c) The Additional District & Sessions Judges, Civil Judges (Sr. Div.) and Civil Judges (Jr. Div.) (irrespective of whether doing criminal works or not) are entitled to avail half of the Long Vacation (Puja Vacation) and Winter Vacation (on roster duty basis).

The Presiding Officers of other Courts/Tribunals are not entitled to avail vacation except notified holidays.

No. HC.XV.08/2024/111/RV.- After consideration of the written statement submitted by Shri Nikunja Boro, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Karimganj, suspended vide High Court Notification No. HC.XV.08/2024/ 64/RV., dated 12th August, 2024, the High Court has been pleased to revoke the suspension order and to reinstate him under Rule 6(5) of Assam Services (Discipline & Appeal) Rules 1964.

A minor penalty of withholding of 1 (one) annual increment, without cumulative effect, has been imposed upon Shri Boro. Accordingly, the Departmental Proceeding against Shri Boro, stands closed.
