In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Census Act. 1998 (37 of 1948)the Central Government hereby appoinment Dr. Ranbir Singh, an officer of the Indian Administrative Service (UP. 86). as the Director of Census Operations,to supervise the taking of census within the State of Uttaranchal. for the 2001 census.
