In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 1 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2000 (56 of 2000), the Central Government hereby appoints the 1st day of April, 2001 as the date on which the provisions of the said Act shall come into force.
