S.O.1137(E).— In exercise of poweYs conferred by section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act,1992 (No.22 of 1992) read with paragraph 1.3 and 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy ,1997-2002 (incorporating amendments made upto 31.3.2001), the Central Government hereby makes following amendments in the "ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items 1997-2002 (incorporating 3 amendments made up to 31* August, 1998)" and as amended from time to time; the existing entry and the amended entry are shown as follows:-

1. Table B of Schedule 1:

(a) Existing Entry

Code ' 0) 5202	Item Description (2) Soft Cotton waste/Hard Cotton waste	Policy (3) Free	Nature of Restriction (4) Certificate from Textile Commissioner, Mumbai on the registration, allocation, quality and quantity of export. However, EOU/EPZ units will not require any such registration and these units shall inform the office of Textile Commissioner of the quantity of cotton waste exported each quarter.

(b) Amended Entry

5202 Soft Cotton Free Deleted

waste/Hard Cotton waste

The restriction, shown at column 4 in respect of item at Code No. 5202 has been deleted.

2. Appendix 1 to Schedule 2
