NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 24th January, 2002

s.o. JOKE).— Whereas in exercise of the powers conferred by the sub- section (1) of section 3A of the National Highway Act, 1956 (48 of 1956), the Central Government vide notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, number S.O. 1006 (E), dated the 8th October, 2001, has declared its intention to acquire for public purpose the lands specified in the Schedule appended to that notifications for the purpose of four-laning of National Highway No. 6 from Km.17.600 to Km.74.000 (Dankuni to Kolaghat Section) in Howrah District, in the State of West Bengal;

And whereas, the competent authority in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, has submitted its report to the Central Government;

Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1), Section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the lands specified in the Schedule below should be acquired for the aforesaid purpose;

And, further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the lands specified in the Schedule annexed hereto are acquired for the aforesaid purpose, and that the said lands shall vest absolutely with the Central Government free from all encumbrances.
