सा. का. नि. 500( अ ).- केन्द्र सरकार, खान और खनिज (विकास और विनियमन) अधिनियम, 1957 ( 1957 का 67 ) की धारा 17-क की उपधारा ( 1 क ) द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का उपयोग करते हुए, छत्तीसगढ़ सरकार के साथ विचार-विमर्श करने के बाद, पूर्वेक्षण लाइसेंस या खनन पट्टे के लिए पहले ही से अधिग्रस्त क्षेत्र को छोड़कर, छत्तीसगढ़ राज्य के कांकेर और बस्तर जिलों के रोवघाट क्षेत्र में लौह अयस्क भंडारों में, केन्द्र सरकार के स्वामित्व में और उसके द्वारा नियंत्रित सार्बजनिक क्षेत्र के एक उपक्रम स्टील अर्थोरिटी ऑफ इंडिया लिमिटेड (एस. ए. आई. एल. ) की मार्फत, पूर्वेक्षण या खनन प्रचालन करने के लिए आरक्षित रखती है और घोषणा करती है कि ऐसे आरक्षित क्षेत्र की परिधिके अंदर आने वाले 2028.797 हैक्टेयर क्षेत्र में तथा नीचे विनिर्दिष्ट खनिज के लिए, दस वर्ष की अवधि हेतु, कोई पूर्वेक्षण लाइसेंस या खनन पट्टा नहीं दिया जाएगा:-

New Delhi , the 16th July, 2002
GSR 500 ( E ) .-In exercise of the powers conferred by sub - section ( 1A) of Section 17A of the Mines and Minerals(Development and Regulation ) Act , 1957 ( 67 of 1957), the Central Government , after consultation with the StateGovernment of Chhattisgarh , reserves for undertak- ing prospecting or mining operations through the Steel Authority of India Limited ( SAIL ) , a Public Sector Under- taking owned and controlled by the Central Government , of the Iron ore deposits in Rowghat area in Kanker and Bastar district of the State of Chhattisgarh except the area already held under prospecting licence or mining lease and declares that no prospecting licence or mining lease shall be granted in an area of 2028.797 hectares for ten years lying within the boundary of such reserved area and for the mineral specified below, namely :-
