का. आ. 760 ( अ) .- स्नातकोत्तर आयुर्विज्ञान शिक्षा और अनुसंधान संस्थान, चंडीगढ़ अधिनियम, 1956 ( 1956 का 51 ) की धारा 7 की उपधारा ( 1 ) द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए और भारत के राजपत्र , असाधारण , भाग II , खंड 3 , उप खंड ( ii ) में दिनांक 19 जून, 2002 को प्रकाशित भारत सरकार, स्वास्थ्यऔर परिवार कल्याण मंत्रालय ( स्वास्थ्य विभाग ) की अधिसूचना सं. का.आ. 1038 ( अ ) दिनांक 19 जून, 2002 का अधिक्रमण करते हुए केन्द्रीय सरकार एतद्द्वारा स्नातकोत्तर आयुर्विज्ञान शिक्षा और अनुसंधान संस्थान, चंडीगढ़ के एक सदस्य श्री शत्रुघ्न सिन्हा, स्वास्थ्यऔर परिवार कल्याण मंत्री को उक्त संस्थान के अध्यक्ष के रूप में नामित करती है ।
S.O. 760(E ) .- In exercise of the powers conferred by Sub - section ( 1 ) of Section 7 of the Post-Graduate Institute ofMedical Education and Research Act, 1966 ( 51 of 1966) and in supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (Department ofHealth) number S.O. 580 (E) , dated the 19th June, 2000 published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part - II , Section 3 , Sub -section ( ii ) dated the 19th June, 2000, the Central Government hereby nominates Shri Shatrughan Sinha, Minister of Health and Family Welfare , a member of the Post- Graduate Institute ofMedical Education and Research, Chandigarh, to be the President of the said Institute .

Note : The Principal notification was published in theGazette of India vide notification number 1034 (E) dated the 2nd December, 1988 , amended vide S.O. No. 759 (E) , dated the 13th September 1999 , S.O. No. 1060(E) , dated the 29th October , 1999 and further amended vide S.O. 580 (E) dated the 19th June, 2000.
