यह अधिसूचित किया जाता है कि बैंककारी विनियमन अधिनियम, 1949 की धारा 45 की उपधारा ( 1 ) के अन्तर्गत भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक द्वारा आवेदन किए जाने पर भारत सरकार ने दिनांक 13 नवम्बर, 2003 की सरकारी अधिसूचना एफ. सं. 15/20/2003- बीओए द्वारा साउथ गुजरात लोकल एरिया बैंक लि. के संबंध में, उक्त धारा की उपधारा ( 2 ) के अन्तर्गत, 13 नवम्बर, 2003 को कारोबार की समाप्ति की अवधि से 12 फरवरी, 2004 तक ( 12 फरवरी , 2004 को शामिल करते हुए ) के लिए अधिस्थगन का आदेश दिया था । उक्त अधिस्थगन संबंधी आदेश की अवधि दिनांक 10 फरवरी , 2004 की सरकारी अधिसूचना एफ. सं. 15/20/2003 - बीओए द्वारा 12 मई, 2004 तक ( 12 मई, 2004 को शामिल करते हुए ) बढ़ा दी गई है । साउथ गुजरात लोकल एरिया बैंकलि. , के बैंक ऑफ बड़ौदा के साथ समामेलन हेतु भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने, उक्त धारा की उपधारा ( 4 ) द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए एक योजना तैयार की है और उसका प्रारूप , बैंककारी विनियमन अधिनियम अधिनियम की धारा, 45 की उपधारा ( 6 ) के खण्ड ( ए ) के अनुसार सुझाव और आपत्तियां भेजने के लिए उपर्युक्त बैंकिंग कम्पनियों में से प्रत्येक को भेजा है । उक्त बैंकिंग कम्पनियों का कोई भी सदस्य, जमाकर्ता या उधारकर्ता उक्त बैंकिंग कम्पनियों से योजना के प्रारूप की प्रतियां प्राप्त कर सकता है । यदि साउथ गुजरात लोकल एरिया बैंक लि. या बैंक ऑफ बड़ौदा के किसी सदस्य, जमाकर्ता या उधारकर्ता के पास योजना के प्रारूप केसंबंध में कोई सुझाव या आपत्ति हो तो वह अपना सुझाव/ आपत्ति प्रभारी मुख्य महाप्रबन्धक, बैंकिंग परिचालन और विकास विभाग, भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक, केन्द्रीय कार्यालय , वर्ल्ड ट्रेड सेंटर, सेंटर 1 , कफ परेड, कोलाबा, मुम्बई-400005 को उक्त अधिनियम की धारा 45 की उपधारा ( 6 ) के खण्ड ( बी ) के अन्तर्गत विचार हेतु 13 मार्च, 2004 तक भेज सकताहै ।

NOTICE
Mumbai , the 1st March, 2004
It is hereby notified that on the application of the Reserve Bank of India under Sub - section ( 1 ) of Section 45 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949, the Government of India had made an Order of Moratorium in respect of the South Gujarat Local Area Bank Ltd. under Sub-section (2 ) of the said Section for the period from the close of business on November 13 , 2003 up to and inclusive ofFerburary 12, 2004 vide Government Notification F. No. 15/20/2003 -BOA dated November 13, 2003. The period of moratorium has been extended up to and inclusive ofMay 12, 2004 on the same terms and conditions, vide Government Notification F. No. 15 / 20/ 2003 - BOA dated February 10, 2004. In order to effect an amalgamation ofthe South Gujarat Local Area Bank Ltd. with Bank ofBaroda, the Reserve Bank of India , in exercise of the powers conferred on itby Sub - section (4 ) of the said Section , has prepared a scheme and forwarded it, in draft , to each of the aforesaid banking companies for suggestions and objections , if any, in terms of clause (a) of Sub -section (6 ) of Section 45 ibid by March 13 , 2004. Copies of the draft scheme can be obtained from the aforesaid two banking companies by any of their members , depositors or creditors . If any member depositor or creditor of the South Gujarat Local Area Bank Ltd. or Bank of Baroda has any suggestions / objections with regard to the draft scheme , he may send his suggestions/objections to the Chief General Manager- in -Charge , Department of Banking Operations and Development , Reserve Bank of India , Central Office , World Trade Centre , Centre- 1 , Cuffe Parade, Colaba, Mumbai -400005 not later than March 13 , 2004 for consideration under clause (b) of Sub - section ( 6) of Section 45 of the saidAct.
