काया 85 ( अ) जीव- जन्तुओं के प्रति क्रूरता निवारण अधिनियम, 1960 ( 1960 का 59 ) की धारा 15 द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए, केन्द्रीय सरकार, एतद्वारा , पर्यावरण और वन मंत्रालय , भारत सरकार की अधिसूचना सं. का. आ. 32 ( अ ) , दिनांक 10-1-2003 में पशुओं पर प्रयोगों के नियंत्रण एवं पर्यवेक्षण संबंधी समिति के गठन से संबंधित अधिसूचना में, जिसे का.आ. 599 ( अ ) , दिनांक 26-5-2003, का.आ. 955 ( अ ) दिनांक 21-8-2003 और का.आ. 69 ( अ ) दिनांक 15-1-2004 द्वारा यथा- संशोधित किया गया था, में निम्नलिखित संशोधन करती है :-
नामशः :- 2. उक्त अधिसूचना में, क्रम सं. 1 के सामने दी गई प्रविष्टियां हटा दी जाएंगी तथा निम्नलिखित प्रविष्टियां सम्मिलित कर दी जाएंगी,

3. उक्त अधिनियम की धारा 15 की उप- धारा ( 2 ) के अंतर्गत प्रदत्त शक्तियों के तहत, भारत सरकार श्री सुरेश चन्द्र, विशेष सचिव, भारत सरकार, पर्यावरण एवं वन मंत्रालय को दिनांक 2 दिसम्बर, 2004 से पशुओं पर प्रयोगों के नियंत्रण एवं पर्यावेक्षण संबंधी समिति ( सी पी सी एस ई ए ) के अध्यक्ष पद पर नामित करती है ।

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi , the 25th January, 2005
S.O. 85( E) . In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 15 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act , 1960 (59 of 1960) , the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment in the Notification of the Government of India in the Ministry ofEnvironment and Forests S.O. 32 (E) dated 10-01-2003 relating to the constitution ofthe Committee for the Purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CPCSEA ) , as amended vide Notifications S.O. 599(E ) dated 26-05-2003 . S.O. 955 (E ) dated 21-08-2003 and S.O. 69 (E) , dated 15-01-2004.
2. In the said Notification , the existing entries against Serial No. 1 shall be deleted and the following entries shall be inserted , namely :-

3. Under the powers conferred to it in Sub - section (2) of Section 15 of the said Act, the Central Government hereby nominates Shri Suresh Chandra, Special Secretary, Government of India, Ministry of Environment and Forests , to be the Chairman of the Committee for the Purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CPCSEA ) with effect from 2nd December, 2004 .
