का. आ. 74(अ).- तटीय जलकृषि प्राधिकरण अधिनियम, 2005 (2005 का 24) की धारा 2 की उप- धारा ( 1 ) के खंड ( घ) द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए, केन्द्र सरकार एतद्वारा उक्त अधिनियम के उद्देश्योंके लिए निम्नलिखित क्षेत्र को तटीय क्षेत्र विनिर्दिष्ट करती है, नामतः
" समुद्र, नदियों, क्रीकों तथा बैकवाटर की हाई टाइड लाइन ( एच टी एल ) से दो किलोमीटर की दूरी के भीतर की भूमि का क्षेत्र।"
टिप्पणी:-1. नदियों, क्रीकों तथा बैकवाटर के साथ- साथ परिसीमा को दर्शाना उस सीमा तक शासित होगा जहां तक ज्वारीय प्रभाव देखा जाता है तथा जहां लवणता सांद्रण प्रति हजार 5 भाग (पीपीटी) से कम नहीं है । इस उद्देश्य के लिए लवणता को वर्ष के सबसे सूखी अवधि के दौरान मापा जाएगा ।
टिप्पणी;-2. चिलका झील तथा पुलिकट झील जैसे परिस्थिति भंगुर क्षेत्रों के मामले में, तटवर्ती क्षेत्र झीलों की सीमा से दो किलोमीटर तक की दूरी तक बढ़ाया जाएगा ।

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 23rd January , 2006
S.O. 74(E) . In exercise of the powers conferredby clause(d) of Sub-section (1 ) of Section 2 of the Coastal Aquaculture Authority Act, 2005 (24 of 2005) the Central Government hereby specifies the following area to be coastal area for the purposes of the said Act, namely:-
"Area of land within a distance of two kilometers from theHigh Tide Line (HTL) of seas, rivers , creeks and backwaters . "
Note:-1. The delineating boundaries along rivers , creeks and backwaters shall be governed by the distance upto which the tidal effects are experienced and where salinity concentration is not less than 5 parts per thousand (ppt) . For this purpose the salinity measurements shall be madeduring thedriest period of the year.
Note :-2. In the case of ecologically fragile areas such as Chilka Lake and Pulicat Lake, the coastal area shall extend up to a distance of two kms . from the boundary of the lakes.
