सा.का.नि. 697 ( अ)-केन्द्रीय सरकार , केबल टेलीविजन नेटवर्क ( विनियमन ) अधिनियम , 1995 ( 1995 का 7 ) की धारा 22 की उप - धारा ( 1 ) द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए , केबल टेलीविजन नेटवर्क नियम , 1994 का और संशोधन करने के लिए निम्नलिखित नियम बनाती है , अर्थात्: -
1. (1) इन नियमों का संक्षिप्त नाम केबल टेलीविजन नेटवर्क (पांचवां संशोधन ) नियम , 2006 है ।
(2) ये राजपत्र में इनके प्रकाशन की तारीख को प्रवृत्त होंगे ।
2. केबल टेलीविजन नेटवर्क नियम , 1994 के नियम 6 के उप - नियम (6 ) में, पहले परंतुक के स्थान पर निम्नलिखित परंतुक रखा जाएगा , अर्थात्:-
" परंतु कोई केबल आपरेटर , जिसका रजिस्ट्रेशन के लिए आवेदन, केन्द्रीय सरकार को 11 मई , 2006 को या उससे पूर्व किया गया था और वह विचाराधीन है , इस अधिसूचना की तारीख से तीन मास की अवधि के लिए या ऐसा रजिस्ट्रीकरण मंजूर किए जाने या खारिज किए जाने तक, इनमें से जो भी पूर्वतर हो , किसी टेलीविजन प्रसारण या चैनल में अपनी केबल सेवा जारी रख सकेगा या शामिल कर सकेगा:" ।

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi , the 11th November , 2006
G . $ . R. 697 (E) . In exercise of the powers conferred by Sub -section ( 1 ) of Section 22 of the Cable Television Networks ( Regulation) Act, 1995 (7 of 1995) , the Central Government hereby makes the following rulesfurther to amend the Cable Television Networks Rules , 1994, namely:--
1. ( 1) These rules may be called Cable Television Networks (Fifth Amendment) Rules , 2006 .
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette .
2. In the Cable Television Networks Rules , 1994, in rule 6 in sub - rule (6) for the first proviso the following proviso shall be substituted, namely:-
"Provided that a cable operator may continue to carry or include in his cable service any Television broadcast or channel , whose application for registration to the Central Government was made on or before 11th May , 2006 and is under consideration, for a period of three months from the date of this notification, or till such registration has been granted or refused, whichever is earlier :" .
