आ.अ. ३( अ ).-यतः , पंजाब राज्य के 2 - अमृतसर संसदीय निर्वाचन क्षेत्र से निर्वाचित श्री नवजोत सिंह सिद्धू का स्थान 4 दिसम्बर , 2006 से उनके त्याग पत्र देने के कारण रिक्त हो गया; और
2. यतः , इस प्रकार हुई रिक्ति को भरने के प्रयोजन से उप - निर्वाचन कराया जाना है;
3. अतः , अब; लोक प्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम , 1951 ( 1951 का 43 ) की धारा 149 , किउप- धारा ( 1 ) , 30 और 56 के अनुसरण में, भारत निर्वाचन आयोग एतद्वारा :-
(अ ) पंजाब राज्य के 2 - अमृतसर संसदीय निर्वाचन क्षेत्र से यह अपेक्षा करता है कि वह 2 मार्च , 2007 ( शुक्रवार ) से पूर्व और उक्त अधिनियम और तद्धीन बनाए गए नियमों और किए गए आदेशों के उपबंधों के अनुसार राज्य के इस लोकसभा निर्वाचन में उक्त रिक्ति को भरने के प्रयोजन से एक व्यक्ति निर्वाचित कर दें;
(आ ) उक्त निर्वाचन के संबंध में :-
25 जनवरी , 2007 ( बृहस्पतिवार ) (क) नाम निर्देशन करने की अन्तिम तारीख
27 जनवरी , 2007 ( शनिवार) नाम निर्देशन की संवीक्षा की तारीख
(ख)
29 जनवरी , 2007 ( सोमवार ) (ग) अभ्यर्थिताएं वापस लेने की अन्तिम तारीख
13फरवरी , 2007 ( मंगलवार ) घ ) वह तारीख , जिसको यदि आवश्यक हुआ तो मतदान होगा ,
(
02मार्च, 2007 ( शुक्रवार) (ड. ) वह तारीख जिससे पूर्व निर्वाचन सम्पन्न करा लिया जाएगा नियत करता है; और
(इ ) 8.00 बजे पूर्वाह्न से 5.00 बजे अपराह्न तक का समय, ऐसे समय के रूप में नियत हुआ है तो, निर्वाचन के लिए उपर्युक्त विनिर्दिष्ट तारीख को , मतदान होगा । करता है जिसके दौरान यदि आवश्यक

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi , the 18th January, 2007
O. N. 3 (E ) . Whereas , the seat of Shri Navjot Singh Siddhu, in the House of the People , elected from 2- Amritsar Parliamentary Constituency in the State of Punjab , has become vacant on 4th December, 2006, by reason of his resignation; and
2. Whereas , abye - election is to be held for the purpose of filling the vacancy so caused ;
3. Now, therefore, in pursuance of Sub- section ( 1) of Section 149 , and Sections 30 and 56, of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 ( 43 of 1951 ), the Election Commission of India hereby---
(A) calls upon the said 2- Amritsar Parliamentary Constituency in the State of Punjab , to elect, before the 2nd March, 2007 (Friday) and in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the rules and orders made thereunder , a person for the purpose of filling the said vacancy in the House of the People;
(B) appoints, with respect to the said election ,---
(a) the 25th January, 2007 (Thursday) , as the last date for making nominations ;
(b) the 27th January , 2007 ( Saturday ) , as the date for scrutiny of nominations ;
(c) the 29th January , 2007 ( Monday) , as the lastdate for the withdrawal of candidatures;
(d) the 13th February , 2007 (Tuesday) , as the date on which a poll shall , if necessary be taken; and (e) the 2nd March, 2007 (Friday) , as the date before which the election shallbe completed ; and (C) fixes the hours from 8.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M. , as the hours during which the poll shall , if necessary , be taken on the date specified above , for the election.
