का.आ. 104(अ).-केन्द्रीय सरकार के जल संसाधन मंत्रालय ने अधिसूचना संख्यांक का.आ. 169 ( अ ) , तारीख 2 अप्रैल , 1986 द्वारा उसमें निर्दिष्ट कतिपय मामलों के सत्यापन और न्यायनिर्णयन के लिए रावी और ब्यास जल अधिकरण का गठन किया था और उक्त अधिकरण ने केन्द्रीय सरकार को अपनी रिपोर्ट 30 जनवरी , 1987 को अग्रेषित कर दी थी ;
और केन्द्रीय सरकार द्वारा पूर्वोक्त रिपोर्ट पर स्पष्टीकरण और मार्गदर्शन की अपेक्षा करते हुए तारीख 19 अगस्त, 1987 को उक्त अधिकरण के प्रति और निर्देश किए गए ;
और केन्द्रीय सरकार द्वारा , उक्त अधिकरण द्वारा अपनी आगे की रिपोर्ट को पूरा करने में किए गए अत्यधिक कार्य पर विचार करते हुए, उक्त रिपोर्ट तैयार करने की अवधि को समय - समय पर बढ़ाते हुए 5 फरवरी, 2007 तक कर दिया गया है ;
और केन्द्रीय सरकार अंतर्वलित कार्य की अत्यावश्यकता को ध्यान में रखते हुए जैसा कि उक्त अधिकरण द्वारा बताया गया है , यह आवश्यक समझती है कि उक्त अवधि का 5 फरवरी , 2007 के पश्चात् और छह मास तक का विस्तार किया जाए ;
अतः , अब , केन्द्रीय सरकार , अंतर्राज्यिक नदी जल विवाद अधिनियम , 1956 ( 1956 का 33 ) की धारा 5 की उप- धारा ( 3 ) के परंतुक द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए इस अवधि का विस्तार करती है जिसके भीतर अधिकरण इस प्रकार किए गए निर्देशों पर अपनी रिपोर्ट केन्द्रीय सरकार को 5 अगस्त, 2007 तक भेज सकेगा और उस प्रयोजन के लिए भारत सरकार के जल संसाधन मंत्रालय की अधिसूचना संख्यांक का.आ. 905 ( अ ) , तारीख 5 अगस्त , 2003 में निम्नलिखित और संशोधन करती है , अर्थात्:--
जाएंगे । उक्त अधिसूचना के अंतिम पैरा में " 5 फरवरी , 2007 तक " अंक और शब्दों के स्थान पर " 5 अगस्त, 2007 तक " अंक और शब्द रखे

टिप्पण: - रावी और ब्यास अधिकरण का गठन करने वाली मूल अधिसूचना सं . का.आ. 169 ( अ ) , तारीख 2 अप्रैल , 1986 द्वारा भारत के राजपत्र में प्रकाशित की गई थी और तत्पश्चात् सं. का.आ. 666 ( अ ) , तारीख 10 जून , 2003 द्वारा संशोधन किया गया था और उस अवधि को जिसके भीतर अधिकरण से केन्द्रीय सरकार को अपनी अगली रिपोर्ट. भेजने की अपेक्षा की गई थी , समय- समय पर सं. का.आ. 905 ( अ ) , तारीख 5 अगस्त, 2003 ; सं. का.आ. 889 ( अ ) , तारीख 5 अगस्त, 2004; सं. का. आ. 166 ( अ ) , तारीख 4 फरवरी , 2005; सं. का.आ. 1093 ( अ ) , तारीख 4 अगस्त, 2005; सं. का. आ. 133 ( अ ) , तारीख 3 फरवरी , 2006 और सं. का. आ. 1218( अ ) , तारीख 28 जुलाई , 2006 द्वारा बढ़ाया गया था।

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi , the 2nd February , 2007
S.O. 104(E ) . Whereas the Government of India in the Ministry of Water Resources vide notification number S.O. 169(E), dated the 2nd April, 1986 constituted the Ravi and Beas Waters Tribunal for verification and adjudication of certain matters referred therein , and the said Tribunal forwarded its report to the Central Government on 30th January, 1987;
And whereas , further references have been made by the Central Government to the said Tribunal on 19th August , 1987 requiring explanation and guidance on the report aforesaid;
Andwhereas, considering the enormous exercise undertaken by the said Tribunal in completing its further report, the Central Government extended the period of making the said report , from time to time, till the 5th February , 2007;
And whereas , the Central Government, keeping in view the cxigencics of the work involved , as pointed out by the said Tribunal , considers it necessary to extend the said period for another six months after the 5th February , 2007;
Now therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Sub - section (3 ) of Section 5 of the Inter - State RiverWater Disputes Act , 1956 (33 of 1956 ) , the Central Government hereby further extends the period, within which the Tribunal may forward its report on the references so made , to the Central Government till the 5th day of August, 2007, and for that purpose makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Water Resources number S.O. 905 (E) , dated the 5th August , 2003 , namely : ---
In the said notification , in the last paragraph , for the words , figures and letters " till the 5th day of February , 2007 " , the words, figures and letters "till the 5th day of August , 2007" shall be substituted .

Note: The principal notification constituting the Ravi and Beas Waters Tribunal was published in the Gazette of India vide number S.O. 169 (E) , dated the 2nd April , 1986 and subsequently amended vide number S.O. 666( E) , dated the 10th June , 2003 , and the period within which the Tribunal was required to forward its further report to the Central Governmentwas extended from time to time vide number S.O. 905 (E) , dated the 5th August, 2003 ; No. S.O. 889 (E) , dated the 5th August, 2004 ; No. S.O. 166 (E) , dated the 4th February , 2005; No. S.O. 1093 (E) , dated the 4th August, 2005; No. S.O. 133 (E) , dated the 3rd February , 2006 and No. S.O. 1218 (E ) , dated the 28th July , 2006.
