आ.अ. 118(अ ), लोक प्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम , 1950 (1950 का 43 ) की धारा 13 कक की उप - धारा ( 1 ) और ( 2 ) के अनुसरण में , निर्वाचन आयोग गुजरात सरकार के परामर्श में एतद्वारा यह निदेश देता है कि जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारियों की नियुक्ति से संबंधित अधिसूचना सं. 508/गुज./ 1997 तारीख 25 नवम्बर , 1997 में निम्नलिखित संशोधन किए जाएंगे , अर्थात्:-
Ο.Ν. 118 (E) . In pursuance of the provisions contained in sub- sections (1) and (2) of Section 13AA of the Representation of the People Act, 1950 (43 of 1950) , the Election Commission , in consultation with the State Government of Gujarat, hereby, directs that the following amendments shall be made in its Notification No. 508/GJ/ 1997, dated the 25th November, 1997, relating to the appointment of District Election Officers , namely :-
उक्त अधिसूचना से संलग्न सारणी के स्तम्भ ( 1 ) , ( 2 ) और (3 ) में निम्नलिखित प्रविष्टियां जोड़ी जाएंगी:-
In the Table appended to the said Notification in columns (1 ) , (2) and (3) , the following entries shall be added:

2. उपरोक्त जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी, तापी की नियुक्ति गुजरात विधान सभा के सामान्य निर्वाचन , 2007 सम्पन्न होने के पश्चात्प्रभावी नहीं रहेगी ।
2.The above appointment of District Election Officer , Tapi shall cease to be effective after the completion of process of the general electionto Gujarat Legislative Assembly, 2007.
