G.S.R. 705(E).--In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution , the Presidenthereby makes the following further amendments to the Settlement Commission (Income - tax/Wealth - tax) (Recruitment and Conditions of Service of Chairman, Vice- Chairmen and Members) Rules , 2000 , namely :
सा.का.नि. 705(अ) .-राष्ट्रपति, संविधान के अनुच्छेद 309 के परन्तुक द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए , एतद्वारा समझौता आयोग ( आयकर/ धन- कर ) ( अध्यक्ष, उपाध्यक्षों और सदस्यों की भर्ती और सेवा शर्तें ) नियम , 2000 को आगे ओर संशेधित करते हैं, नामतः:-
1. (1) These rules may be called the Settlement Commission (Income- tax/Wealth- tax) (Recruitment and Conditions of Service of Chairman , Vice- Chairmen and Members) Amendments Rules, 2007.
1. ( 1 ) इन नियमों को समझौता आयोग ( आयकर/धन-कर ) (अध्यक्ष, उपाध्यक्षों और सदस्यों की भर्ती और सेवा शर्तें ) संशोधन नियम, 2007 कहा जाएगा ।
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. समझौता आयोग ( आयकर/ धन- कर) (अध्यक्ष , उपाध्यक्षों और सदस्यों की भर्ती और सेवा शर्तें ) नियम , 2000 में, नियम 3 , सारणी में अध्यक्ष से संबंधित क्रम सं. पर पद के सामने कॉलम ( 3 ) में प्रविष्टिके स्थान पर निम्नलिखित प्रतिस्थापित किया जाएगा , नमातः
2.Inthe Settlement Commission (Income - tax/Wealth- tax) (Recruitment and Conditions of Service of Chairman , Vice -Chairmen and Members), Rules, 2000 , in rule 3 , in the Tahle, for the entry in Column (3 ) against the post at Sl . No. 1 relating to Chairman , the following shall be substituted, namely:-
" अध्यक्ष का पद रिक्त होने की तारीख को कम से कम छः माह की शेष सेवा वाले आयोग के सेवारत सदस्यों में से । "
"From amongst the serving Members of the Com- mission having minimum remaining service of six months on the date of occurrence of the vacancy for the post of the Chairman . "

(i ) में सा.का.नि. 470( अ ) , दिनांक 19 मई, 2000 द्वारा प्रकाशित किए गए थे और इन्हें बाद में अधिसूचना सं. सा.का.नि. 605 ( अ ) , दिनांक 27 अगस्त, 2002 तथा सा.का.नि. 341 ( अ ) , दिनांक 11 मई, 2007 द्वारा संशोधित किया गया था ।
Note. The principal rules were published in the Gazette of India , Part - II , Section 3 , Sub- section ( i) vide number G.S.R. 470 (E) , dated the 19th May , 2000 and were subsequently amended by notification G.S.R. 605 (E) , dated the 27th August , 2002 and G.S.R. 341 (E) dated the 11th May, 2007 .

सा.का.नि. 706 (अ).-राष्ट्रपति , संविधान के अनुच्छेद 309 के प्ररन्तुक द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए, एतद्वारा सीमा शुल्क एवं केन्द्रीय उत्पाद शुल्क समझौता आयोग ( अध्यक्ष , उपाध्यक्षों और सदस्यों की भर्ती और सेवा शर्तें ) नियम , 2000 में आगे और निम्मलिखितः संशोधन करते हैं, नामतः
1. ( 1 ) इन नियमों को सीमा शुल्क एवं केन्द्रीय उत्पाद शुल्क समझौता आयोग ( अध्यक्ष , उपाध्यक्षों और सदस्यों की भर्ती और सेवा शर्तें ) संशोधन नियम, 2007 कहा जाएगा ।

1. (1) These rules may be called the Customs and Central Excise Settlement Commission (Recruitment and Conditions of Service of Chairman, Vice- Chairmen and Members) Amendment Rules , 2007 .
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette .
2. In the Customs and Central Excise Settlement Commission ( Recruitment and Conditions of Service of Chairman, Vice - Chairmen and Members) , Rules, 2000, in rule 3 , in the Table, for the entry in Column (3 ) against the post at Sl. No. 1 relating to Chairman, the following shall be substituted, namely :-
"From amongst the serving Members of the Com- mission having minimum remaining service of six months on the date of occurrence of the vacancy for the post of the Chairınan . "
