का.आ. 34( अ ).-भारत के उपराष्ट्रपति ने पंजाब विश्व- विद्यालय , चंडीगढ़ के कुलाधिपति की हैसियत से पंजाब विश्वविद्यालय अधिनियम , 1947 ( पंजाब विश्वविद्यालय केलेंडर भाग-1 , 2000 ) धारा 13 ( 1 ) ( जे ) द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए प्रोफेसर हरजीत सिंह , डीन , स्कूल ऑफ सोशल साईंस , जवाहरलाल नेहरू विश्वविद्यालय , नई दिल्ली को सरदार भरपूर सिंह के निधन से रिक्त हुए स्थान पर पंजाब विश्वविद्यालय के सीनेट के लिए सामान्य अध्येता के रूप में 4 जनवरी , 2008 से 31 अक्तूबर , 2008 तक के लिए मनोनीत किया है ।

S.O. 34 (E) . The Vice- President of India in his capacity as the Chancellor of Panjab University has been pleased under the powers vested in him by Section 13 ( 1 ) (j ) of the Panjab University Act , 1947 ( Panjab University Calendar Vol . I, 2000) to nominate Prof. Harjit Singh , Dean , School of Social Science , Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi against the vacancy caused by the sad demise of Shri S. Bharpur Singh as Ordinary Fellow to the Senate of the Panjab University from January 4, 2008 to October 31 , 2008.
