आ.अ. 18(अ).-लोक प्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम , 1950 की धारा 13ग की उप - धारा ( 1 ) द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए, भारत निर्वाचन आयोग , निदेश देता है कि दमण और दीव संघ राज्य क्षेत्र में दमण के लिए सहायक निर्वाचक रजिस्ट्रीकरण अधिकारी की नियुक्ति से संबंधित , दिनांक 11 सितम्बर, 1987 की अधिसूचना सं. 429/दमण व दीव/1987 (2 ) , समय- समय पर यथासंशोधित , में एतद्वारा निम्नलिखित संशोधन किए जाएंगे:-
उक्तअधिसूचना की क्रम सं. 1 की विद्यमान प्रविष्टि के स्थान पर " उप सचिव ( शिक्षा तथा निर्वाचन ) , दमण " प्रविष्टि प्रतिस्थापित की जाएगी ।
2. यह दिनांक 12 मार्च, 2008 से प्रभावी मानी जाएगी ।

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 14th March , 2008
O.N. 18(E). In exercise ofthe powers conferred by sub-section ( 1 ) of Section 13C ofthe Representation ofthe PeopleAct, 1950 , the Election Commission of India hereby directs that following amendment shall be made in the Notification No. 429/D & D/ 1987(2 ) dated 11th September , 1987, as amended from time to time, relating to appoint- ment ofAssistant Electoral Registration Officer for Daman in the Union Territory ofDaman & Diu:-
Theexisting entry at Sl. No. 1 ofthe said Notification shall be substituted by "Deputy Secretary (Education & Election) , Daman " .
2. This shall be deemed to have taken effect with effect from 12th March, 2008 .
