2.21 S.O. 277 ( E ) . Whereas M/s . State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited, a fully owned State Industrial Promotion Organization in the State of Tamil Nadu , has proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act , 2005 (28 of 2005 ) , ( hereinafter referred to as the said Act ) to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for footwear sector at Footwear Park , Irungattukottai SIPCOT Industrial Park , Sriperumbudur Taluk , Kancheepuram District in the State of Tamil Nadu;

0.68 And whereas , the Central Government is satis- fied that requirements under sub - section (8 ) of Section 3 of the said Act . and other related requirements are fulfilled and it has granted letter of approval to M/ s Consortium of Shoe Manufacture under sub- section ( 10 ) of Section 3 of the said Act for development and operation of the sector specific Special Economic Zone for footwear sector at the said SIPCOT Industrial Park , on 27th June , 2006 and sub- sequently granted transfer formal approval to M /s . State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu on 13th November , 2006 ;

Now, therefore , in exercise of the powers con- ferred by sub - section ( 1 ) of Section 4 of the Special Eco- nomic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules , 2006 , the Central Govern- ment hereby notifies the following area at Footwear Park , Irungattukottai SIPCOT Industrial Park , Sriperumbudur Taluk , Kancheepuram District in the State of Tamil Nadu , comprising of the Survey numbers and the area given in the Table below , as a Special Economic Zone , namely : ---
