सं. विधि 158( 4 )/90.- भारत सरकार ने गृह मंत्रालय की अधिसूचना सं. 13034/35 /96- जी.पी. (यू.टी.एल. ) , दिनांक 28-9-2006 द्वारा दिनांक 1-10-2006 से प्रभावी पाण्डिचेरी ( नाम परिवर्तन ) अधिनियम , 2006 (2006 की सं. 44 ) पारित किया है और इसे गोपनीय तथा कैबिनेट विभाग , पाण्डिचेरी के सरकारी राजपत्र में जी.ओ. एम.एस. सं. 68 , दिनांक 30-9-2006 के द्वारा भी पुनः प्रकाशित किया गया है ।
और, जबकि जल ( प्रदूषण निवारण एवं नियंत्रण ) अधिनियम ,1974 , की धारा 4 , खण्ड (4 ) और वायु (प्रदूषण निवारण एवं नियंत्रण ) अधिनियम, 1981 की धारा6 के अधीन प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए , अधिसूचना संख्या का.आ. 787 ( अ) , दिनांक 10-3-1992 द्वारा केन्द्रीय प्रदूषण नियंत्रण बोर्ड ने केन्द्र सरकार की पूर्व स्वीकृति से संघ शासित प्रदेश पाण्डिचेरी के संबंध में जल ( प्रदूषण निवारण एवं नियंत्रण ) अधिनियम , 1974 और वायु ( प्रदूषण निवारण एवं नियंत्रण ) अधिनियम , 1981 के अधीन निहित शक्तियां और कार्यकलाप कथित बोर्ड को प्रत्यायोजित कर दी हैं ।
और पर्यावरण एवं वन मंत्रालय की सहमति सं. जी. 27017/5/ 2007- सी.पी.डब्ल्यू. , दिनांक 10-11-2007 के अनुपालन में , केन्द्रीय प्रदूषण नियंत्रण बोर्ड ने पाण्डिचेरी प्रदूषण नियंत्रण समिति को पुडुचेरी प्रदूषण नियंत्रण समिति के रूप में अधिसूचित किया है ।

No. Legal 158(4)/90.-The Govt. of India in the Ministry of Home Affairs Notification No. U- 13034/35/96-GP(UTL), dated 28-9-2006 has brought into force the Pondicherry (Alternation ofName) Act, 2006 (No. 44 of2006) w.e.f. 1-10-2006 and

the same has also been republished in the Official Gazette of Pondicherry vide G.O.Ms. No. 68 , dated 30-9-2006 of the Confidential and Cabinet Department, Pondicherry .
And whereas in exercise of powers conferred by Section 4, Clause 4 of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution ) Act, 1974 and Section 6 of the Air (Prevention & Control Pollution) Act , 1981 , the Central Pollution Control Board had delegated all its powers and functions vested in the said Board under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution ) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention and Control ofPollution ) Act, 1981 in respect ofUnion Territory of Pondicherry with prior consent ofUnion Government , vide Notification No. S.O. 787 (E), dated 10-3-1992 .
And in compliance ofthe concurrence No. G. 27017/5 /2007- CPW, dated 10-11-2007 of the Ministry of Environment and Forests , the Central Pollution Control Board has notified the Pondicherry Pollution Control Committee as Puducherry Pollution Control Committee .
