सा.का.नि. 847( अ ).-केन्द्रीय सरकार , रेल अधिनियम , 1989 ( 1989 का 24 ) की धारा 198 के साथ पठित धारा 60 की उप - धारा ( 2 ) के खंड ( छ ) द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए , भारतीय रेल ( चालित लाइन ) साधारण नियम , 1976 का और संशोधन करने के लिए निम्नलिखित नियम बनाती है , अर्थात्:-
1. ( 1 ) इन नियमों का संक्षिप्त नाम भारतीय रेल ( चालित लाइन ) साधारण ( संशोधन ) नियम , 2008 है ।
(2) ये राजपत्र में प्रकाशन की तारीख को प्रवृत्त होंगे ।
2. भारतीय रेल ( चालित लाइन ) साधारण नियम , 1976 के अध्याय 2 में निम्नलिखित उप - नियम प्रतिस्थापित किया जाएगा , अर्थात्
(1) नियम 2.01 के उप- नियम ( ग ) के स्थान पर रखें-
" ( ग ) किसी रेल सेवक को इन नियमों की या उक्त नियमों या उसके कर्त्तव्यों से यथा संबंधित उसके ऐसे भागों के अनुवाद की एक प्रति देगा जो विशेष अनुदेशों द्वारा विहित किए जाएं । ";
(ii) नियम 2.02 के स्थान पर रखें
"नियमों की प्रति की देखभाल-प्रत्येक रेल सेवक, जिसे नियम 2.01 के अधीन यथा विहित इन नियमों की प्रति दी गई है ";

(iii) नियम 2.02 के विद्यमान उप- नियम ( क) का लोप किया जाएगा;
(iv) नियम 2.02 के विद्यमान उप- नियम ( ख ) , उप-नियम (ग) , उप - नियम ( घ) और उप-नियम ( ङ) को क्रमशः उप- नियम (क) , उपनियम ( ख ) , उप- नियम ( ग ) और उप-नियम (घ) के रूप में पुनः संख्यांकित किया जाएगा ।

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 10th December, 2008
G.S.R. 847 (E) .-In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (g) of sub- section (2) of Section 60 , read with Section 198 of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989) , the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Indian Railways (Open Lines) General Rules , 1976, namely :-
1. (1) These rules may be called the Indian Railways (Open Lines) General ( Amendment) Rules , 2008.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Indian Railways (Open Lines) General Rules , 1976 , in Chapter II , the following sub - rule shall be substituted , namely :-
( i) for sub -rule (c) ofrule 2.01-
"(c) to any railway servant a copy of these rules or translation of the said rules or of such portions, thereofas relate to his duties , as may be prescribed by Special Instructions ." ;
(ii) for rule2.02-
"Upkeep of the copy of rules . Each railway servant, who has been supplied with a copy of these rules , as prescribed under rule 2.01 shall";

(iii) the existing sub - rule (a) of rule 2.02 shall be deleted;
(iv) the existing sub - rule (b) , (c), (d) and ( e) ofrule 2.02shall be re-numbered as (a) , (b) , (c) and (d) respectively.
