का.आ. 2988(अ).-केन्द्रीय सरकार, सिक्का निर्माण अधिनियम, 1906 (1906 का 3 ) की धारा 6 द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए , यह अवधारित करती है कि : -
(क)" लुई ब्रेल की जन्म द्विशताब्दी ( 1809-2009 ) " का स्मरणोत्सव मनाने के उपलक्ष्य में केन्द्रीय सरकार के प्राधिकार के अधीन जारी करने के लिए टकसाल में निम्नलिखित अंकित मूल्य के सिक्कों का भी निर्माण किया जाएगा , अर्थात्:-
(i) एक सौ रुपए;
(ii ) दो रुपए;
(ख ) उपरोक्त अंकित मूल्य के सिक्के, निम्नलिखित विमाओं, डिजाइन और संरचना के अनुरूप होंगे अर्थात्: -

1. एक सौ रुपए
मुखभाग
सिक्के के इस भाग पर मध्य में अशोक स्तंभ का सिंह शीर्ष होगा जिसके नीचे " सत्यमेव जयते " इबारत लिखी होगी , उसकी ऊपरी बांई परिधि पर हिन्दी में " भारत " शब्द और ऊपरी दांई परिधि पर अंग्रेजी में " INDIA " शब्द होगा । उस पर सिंह शीर्ष के नीचे निचली बांई परिधि पर हिन्दी में " रुपए " शब्द और निचली दांई परिधि पर अंग्रेजी में " RUPEES " शब्द के साथ अंतरराष्ट्रीय अंकों में अंकित मूल्य " 100 " भी होगा ।
पृष्ठभाग
सिक्के के इस भाग पर केन्द्र में लुईब्रेल का चित्र होगा । ऊपरी बांई परिधि पर हिन्दी में " लुई ब्रेल " और ऊपरी दांई परिधि पर अंग्रेजी में " LOUIS BRAILLE " शब्द होगा! चित्र के बाईं ओर केन्द्र में अंतरराष्ट्रीय अंकों में वर्ष " 1809 " और दांई ओर " 2009 " होगा । चित्र के नीचे ब्रेल भाषा में " LOUIS BRAILLE " शब्द होगा ।
2. दो रुपए
मुखभाग
सिक्के का यह भाग दो समतल रेखाओं से तीन भागों में विभाजित होगा । बांए केन्द्र भाग पर मध्य में अशोक स्तंभ का सिंह शीर्ष होगा, जिसके नीचे " सत्यमेव जयते " इबारत लिखी होगी और दाहिने केन्द्र भाग पर अंतरराष्ट्रीय अंक में ' 2 ' मूल्य कित होगा ऊपरी भाग पर हिन्दी में " भारत " शब्द और अंग्रेजी में " INDIA " शब्द होगा और निचले भाग पर हिन्दी में " रुपए " और " RUPEES " अंग्रेजी में होगा ।

सिक्के के इस भाग पर केन्द्र में " LOUIS BRAILLE " का चित्र होगा । ऊपरी बांई परिधि पर हिन्दी में " लुई ब्रेल " शब्द होगा और ऊपरी दांई परिधि पर अंग्रेजी में " LOUIS BRAILLE " शब्द होगा केन्द्र में चित्र के बाई ओर अंतरराष्ट्रीय अंकों में वर्ष " 1809 " और दांई ओर " 2009 " होगा । चित्र के नीचे ब्रेल भाषा में " LOUIS BRAILLE " शब्द लिखा होगा ।

New Delhi , the 30th December, 2008
S.O. 2988 (E) . In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 6 of the Coinage Act, 1906 (3 of 1906) , the Central Government hereby determines that:-
(a) the coins of the following denominations shall also be coined at the Mint for issue under the authority of theCentral Government to commemorate the occasion of the " Birth Bi - Centenary of Louis Braille (1809-2009) " namely:-
(1) One Hundred Rupees;
(ii) Two Rupees;
(b) the coins of the above denominations shall conforin to the following dimensions , designs and composi- tion, namely:-

The face ofthe coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar with the legend "सत्यमेव जयते " inscribed below, flanked on the left upper periphery with the word " भारत " in Hindi and on the right upper periphery with the word " INDIA" inEnglish. It shall also bear the denominational value " 100 " in International Numerals below the Lion Capitol, flanked on the left lower periphery with the word " रुपये " in Hindi and on the right lower periphery with the word " RUPEES " in English .
Reverse
The face ofthe coin shall contain the portrait of LOUIS BRAILLE in the centre . Left upper periphery the -word ब्रेल लुई inHindi and right upper periphery the word " LOUIS BRAILLE " in English. In centre Left Side of the portraits, the years " 1809" and right side " 2009" in International Numerals . Below the portrait the word LOUIS BRAILLE in Braille Language.
2. TWO RUPEES
Obverse
The face ofthe coin is divided into three portions with two horizontal lines. The left centre portion shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar with the legend "सत्यमेव जयते " inscribed below and right centre portion denominational value " 2 " in International Numeral. In the upper portion the word " भारत " in Hindi and " INDIA " in English and lower portion the word " रुपए " In Hindi and "RUPPES" in English .
Reverse
Thefaceofthe coin shall contain the portrait of LOUIS BRAILLE in the centre . Left upper periphery the word "लुई ब्रेल " in Hindi and right upper periphery the word " LOUIS BRAILLE " in English . In centre Left Side of the portraits, the year ' 1809' and right side ' 2009 ' in International Numerals. Below the portrait the word LOUIS BRAILLE in Braille Language .
