जल संसाधन मंत्रालय अधिसूचना नई दिल्ली, 4 फरवरी, 2009
का.आ. 397(अ).-भारत सरकार के जल संसाधन मंत्रालय ने अपनी अधिसूचना संख्यांक का.आ. 169 ( अ) तारीख 2 अप्रैल , 1986 द्वारा निर्दिष्ट उसमें कतिपय विषयों के सत्यापन और न्यायनिर्णयन के लिए, रावी और ब्यास जल अधिकरण का गठन किया था, और उक्त अधिकरण ने अपनी रिपोर्ट 30 जनवरी , 1987 को केन्द्रीय सरकार को भेज दी थी;
और केन्द्रीय सरकार ने उक्त अधिकरणं को, पूर्वोक्त रिपोर्ट पर स्पष्टीकरण और मार्गदर्शन के लिए 19 अगस्त , 1987 को और निर्देश किएथे;
और केन्द्रीय सरकार ने , उसकी आगे की रिपोर्ट को पूरा करने में उक्त अधिकरण द्वारा किए जाने वाले वृहत कार्य को ध्यान में रखते हुए, उक्तरिपोर्ट देने की अवधि को समय- समय पर 5 फरवरी , 2009 तक बढ़ादिया था;
और केन्द्रीय सरकार , उक्त अधिकरण द्वारा अंतर्वलित कार्य की अत्यावश्यकताओं को ध्यान में रखते हुए , यथाउल्लिखित उक्त अवधि को 5 फरवरी , 2009 के पश्चात् और छह मास के लिए बढ़ाना आवश्यक समझती है;
अतः , अब , केन्द्रीय सरकार , अंतरराज्यिक नदी जल विवाद अधिनियम , 1956 ( 1956 का 33 ) की धारा 5 की उप- धारा ( 3 ) के परंतुक द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए , उस अवधि को, जिसके भीतर अधिकरण इस प्रकार किए गए निर्देशों पर अपनी रिपोर्ट केन्द्रीय सरकार को 5 अगस्त , 2009 तक भेज सकेगा , आगे और बढ़ाती है और उस प्रयोजन के लिए भारत सरकार के जल संसाधन 486 GI/2009
मंत्रालय की अधिसूचना संख्यांक का.आ. 905( अ ) , तारीख 5 अगस्त, 2003 में निम्नलिखित और संशोधन करती है , अर्थात्:-
उक्त अधिसूचना के अंतिम पैरा में " 5 फरवरी , 2009 तक" शब्दों और अंकों के स्थान पर " 5 अगस्त , 2009 तक " शब्द और अंक रखे जाएंगे ।

टिप्पण : रावी और ब्यास जल अधिकरण का गठन करने वाली मूल अधिसूचना भारत के राजपत्र में अधिसूचना संख्यांक का.आ. 169 (अ ) तारीख 2 अप्रैल , 1986 द्वारा प्रकाशित की गई थी और तत्पश्चात्वर्ती उसमें अधिसूचना संख्यांक का.आ. 666( अ ) , तारीख 10 जून , 2003 द्वारा संशोधन किया गया; और उस अवधि को जिसके भीतर अधिकरण सेअपनी रिपोर्ट केन्द्रीय सरकार को भेजने के लिए अपेक्षा की गई थी , समय - समय पर अधिसूचना का.आ. 905 (अ) तारीख 5 अगस्त, 2003 , का.आ. 889( अ ) , तारीख 5 अगस्त, 2004 , का. आ. 166 ( अ ) , तारीख 4 फरवरी , 2005 , का.आ. 1093 (अ ) , तारीख 4 अगस्त, 2005 , का.आ. 133 ( अ ) , तारीख 3 फरवरी , 2006 , का.आ. 1218(अ ) , तारीख 28 जुलाई, 2006 , का.आ. 104(अ ) , तारीख 2 फरवरी , 2007, का.आ. 1112 (अ ) , तारीख 6 जुलाई , 2007 , का.आ. 212( अ ) , तारीख 30 जनवरी , 2008 और का.आ. 1700 ( अ ) , तारीख 16 जुलाई , 2008 द्वारा बढ़ाई गई ।

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi , the 4th February, 2009
S.O. 397(E) .- Whereas the Government of India in the Ministry of Water Resources vide its notification number S.O. 169(E), dated the 2nd April, 1986 , constituted the Ravi and Beas Waters Tribunal for verification and adjudication of certain matters referred therein , and the said Tribunal forwarded its report to the Central Government on30th January, 1987;
And whereas , further references have been made by the Central Government to the said Tribunal on 19th August , 1987 requiring explanation and guidance on the report aforesaid;
And whereas , considering the enormous exercise undertaken by the said Tribunal in completing its further report, the Central Government extended the period of making the said report , from time to time , till the 5th February, 2009;
And whereas , the Central Government , keeping in view the exigencies of the work involved, as pointed out by the said Tribunal , considers it necessary to extend the said period for another six months after the 5th February, 2009;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub - section (3 ) of Section 5 ofthe Inter- State River Water Disputes Act , 1956 (33 of 1956) , the

Central Government hereby further extends the period , within which the Tribunal may forward its report on the references so made , to the Central Government till the 5th day of August , 2009 , and for that purpose makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Water Resources number S.O. 905 (E) , dated the 5th August , 2003 , namely : -
Inthe said notification, in the last paragraph , for the words , figures and letters " till the 5th day of February , 2009" , the words , figures and letters " till the 5th day of August, 2009 " shall be substituted.

Note: The principal notification constituting the Ravi and Beas Waters Tribunal was published in the Gazette ofIndia vide number S.O. 169 (E) , dated the 2nd Aprii , 1986 and subsequently amended vide number S.O. 666(E) , dated the 10th June, 2003; and the period within which the Tribunal was required to forward its further report to the Central Government was extended fromtime to time vide number S.O. 905(E) , dated the 5th August , 2003 ; S.O. 889 (E ) , dated the 5th August , 2004 ; S.O. 166 (E) , dated the 4th February, 2005 ; S.O. 1093 ( E) , dated the 4th August, 2005; S.O. 133 (E), dated the 3rd February, 2006; S.O. 1218(E) , dated the 28th July, 2006; S.O. 104 (E) , dated the2nd February , 2007; S.O. 1112(E), dated the 6th July, 2007, S.O. 212 (E), dated the 30th January, 2008 and S.O. 1700 ( E) , dated the 16th July, 2008 .
