सा.का.नि. 789(अ). भारतीय डाकघर अधिनियम , 1898 (1898 का 6 ) की धारा 74 के साथ पठित धारा 21 की उप- धारा ( 2 ) के खण्ड (घ ) द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए केन्द्र सरकार भारतीय डाकघर नियमावली , 1933 में और आगे संशोधन करने के लिए निम्नलिखित नियम बनाती है , नामतः:-
1. ( 1 ) इन नियमों को भारतीय डाकघर ( तृतीय संशोधन ) नियम , 2009 कहा जाएगा ।
(2 ) ये 10 नवम्बर , 2009 से प्रवृत्त होंगे ।
2. भारतीय डाकघर नियमावली , 1933 में नियम 33 क के बाद निम्नलिखित नियम को अंतःस्थापित किया जाएगा , नामतः:-
"33ख. महानिदेशक डाक सर्किलों के अध्यक्षों को समय-समय पर ऐसे चिन्हित कार्यालय को चिन्हित करने के लिए प्राधिकृतं कर सकते हैं जहां " ओवरनाइट पार्सल " नामक डाक- वस्तु कोनिम्नलिखित शर्तों के अध्यधीन बुक किया जा सके :
(क) ओवरनाइट पार्सल का अधिकतम भार 10 किलोग्राम होगा;
(ख) ओवरनाइट पार्सल के लिये प्रभारित किया जाने वाला प्रशुल्क निम्नानुसार होगा , नामतः:-
प्रभार (रु. में)
250 पहले 2 किलोग्राम के लिए
100 प्रति अतिरिक्त किलोग्राम अथवा
उसके भाग के लिए

(ग ) द्वार पर सुपुर्दगी के लिए अतिरिक्त प्रभार पचास रुपए प्रति ओवरनाइट पार्सल होगा;
(घ ) एक ' ओवरनाइट पार्सल ' का आकार किसी एक आयाम केलिए 1.50 मीटर अथवा लंबाई तथा लंबाई के अतिरिक्त किसी अन्य दिशा में मापी गई अधिकतम परिधि के जोड़ के मामले में 3 मीटर से अधिक नहीं होगा ;
(ङ) यदि आवश्यक समझा जाए तो महानिदेशक ओवरनाइट पार्सल सेवा के लिए बीमे का प्रावधान कर सकते हैं । "

G.S.R. 789 (E ) .--In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (d) of sub - section (2 ) of Section 21 read with Section 74 ofthe Indian Post Office Act, 1898 ( 6 of 1898) , the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Indian Post Office Rules , 1933 , namely:-
1. ( 1 ) These rules may be called the Indian Post Office (ThirdAmendment ) Rules , 2009.
(2) They shall come into force on 10th November, 2009 .
2. In the Indian Post Office Rules , 1933 , after rule 33A, the following rule shall be inserted , namely :----
"33B . The Director General may authorize the Heads 4

ofPostal Circles to designate from time to time, the designated office where article called as "Overnight Parcel" may be booked , subject to the following con- ditions namely:-
(a) the maximum weight of the Overnight Parcel shall be 10 Kgs.;
(b) the staff to be charged for the Overnight Parcel shall be as under , namely :-
