NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 26th November, 2009
S.O. 3023(E).—Whereas by notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways number S.O. 465(E), dated the 26th April, 2002, issued under Section I 1 of the National Highways Authority of India Act, 1988 (68 of 1988), the Central Government has entrusted the stretch from km 0.00—km 231.600 ( Madurai to Kanyakumari Section) of National Highway No. 7 in the State of Tamil Nadu to the National Highways Authority of India (hereinafter referred to as the Authority);
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 7 of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956), read with the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008, the Central Government hereby levies the fee at the rates specified in columns (3), (4), (5) and (6) of the following Table, on the Type of Vehicles specified in column (2) thereof, for the use of the Tirunelvelli to Panangudi section from km 149.800 - km 211.140 (total length being 61.340 kilometers including 19.460 kilometers of Tirunelvelli bypass, the approximate cost of which is Rs. 105.00 crores ) of National Highway No. 7 in the State of Tamil Nadu and authorises the Authority to collect either through its officials or through a contractor, the said fee, namely :—
