In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 30 of Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research, Puducheny Act, 2008 (19 of 2008), the Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research, with theprevious approval of the Central Government (vide Letter No.F.No. A. 12034/17/2010-ME. III dated 16th August, 2010), hereby makes the following regulations further to amend the Regulations 40(1) and 40(2) of Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research, Regulations, 2008 namely :-

These Regulations may be called the Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (Amendment) Regulations, 2010.

They shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from 4-8-2008.

2. In the Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research Regulations, 2008 in Regulation 40(1) and 40(2) along with proviso, shall be read as under:

40(1) The age of superannuation of the employees of the Institute other than teaching faculty shall be sixty-K(0) years :

Provided that the medical and scientific specialists may be granted extension in service, on a case to case basis, up to the age of sixty-two years in the case of persons who are exceptionally talented for reasons to be recorded in writing and subject to physical fitness and continued efficiency of the person concerned.

40(2) The age of superannuation of the members of the teaching faculty of the Institute shall be sixty-five (65) years.
