सा.का.नि. 359(अ).—के न्द्र सरकार, विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग अधिनियम, 1956 (1956 का 3) की धारा 12ख के साथ पठित, धारा 25 द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग (अनुदान के लिए मुक्त विश्वविद्यालयों की उपयुक्तता) नियमावली, 1989 में एतद द्वारा निम्नलिखित संशोधन करती है अर्थात् :-
1. लघु शीर्षक, अनुप्रयोग एवं प्रारंभः (1) इन नियमों को विश्वविद्यालय अनुदानआयोग (अनुदान के लिए मुक्त विश्वविद्यालयों की उपयुक्तता) नियमावली, 2022 कहा जाएगा।
(2) ये नियम के न्द्रीय अधिनियम द्वारा/या के तहत स्थापित या निगमित किसी मुक्त विश्वविद्यालय को छोड़कर प्रत्येक मुक्त विश्वविद्यालय पर लागू होंगे।
(3) ये सरकारी राजपत्र में उनके प्रकाशन की तारीख से प्रवृत्त होंगे।
2. विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग (अनुदान के लिए मुक्त विश्वविद्यालयों की उपयुक्तता) नियमावली, 1989 में, नियम 3 के खंड (ग) के उप-खंड (i) और उससे संबंधित प्रविष्टियों में निम्नलिखित प्रतिस्थापित किए जाएंगे, नामतः- "(i) विकसित भूमि 5 एकड़" 2 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY [PART II—SEC. 3(i)] टिप्पणीः मूल नियम फा. सं. 10-40/88–डेस्क (यू) दिनांक 25 मार्च, 1989 के तहत भारत के राजपत्र, भाग-II खंड 3 उप-खंड (1) में प्रकाशित किए गए थे, जिन्हें संशोधित नहीं किया गया है।

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 17th May, 2022
G.S.R 359(E).—In exercise of the power conferred by section 25, read with section 12B of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 (3 of 1956), the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment in University Grants Commission (Fitness of Open Universities for grants) Rules, 1989, namely :-
1. Short title, application and commencement .- (1) These rules may be called the University Grants Commission (Fitness of Open Universities for grants) (Amendment), Rules 2022.
(2) They shall apply to every Open University except an Open University established or incorporated by or under a Central Act.
(3) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the University Grants Commission (Fitness of Open Universities for grants), Rules, 1989, for the sub-clause (i) of clause (c) of rule 3 and entries relating thereto, the following shall be substituted, namely :-
"(i) Developed land 5 Acres".
