आ.अ. 06(अ).— यतः, भारत के राष्ट्रपति ने लोक प्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम, 1951(1951 का 43) की धारा 12 के अधीन जारी और तारीख 02 जनवरी, 2024 को भारत के राजपत्र में प्रकाशित अधिसूचना द्वारा राष्ट्रीय राजधानी क्षेत्र दिल्ली की विधान सभा के निर्वाचित सदस्यों से यह अपेक्षा की है कि 27 जनवरी, 2024 को श्री नारायण दास गुप्ता की पदावधि के अवसान पर उनकी सेवानिवृत्ति के कारण राज्य सभा में होने वाली रिक्ति को भरने के लिए राष्ट्रीय राजधानी क्षेत्र दिल्ली से उस सदन के लिए एक सदस्य निर्वाचित कर दें;

अतः, अब उक्त अधिनियम की धारा 39 की उप-धारा (1) और धारा 56 के अनुसरण में भारत निर्वाचन आयोग एतद्द्वारा :-

(अ) उक्त निर्वाचन के संबंध में निम्नलिखित निर्धारित करता है :-

(क) नाम निर्देशित करने की अन्तिम तारीख

- 9 जनवरी, 2024 (मंगलवार) (ख) नाम निर्देशनों की संवीक्षा की तारीख

- 10 जनवरी, 2024 (बुधवार) (ग) अभ्यर्थिताएं वापस लेने की अंतिम तारीख - 12 जनवरी, 2024 (शुक्रवार)(घ) वह तारीख, जिसको यदि आवश्यक हुआ तो मतदान होगा, - 19 जनवरी, 2024 (शुक्रवार) (ड.) वह तारीख जिससे पूर्व निर्वाचन सम्पन्न करा लिया जाएगा - 23 जनवरी, 2024 (मंगलवार), और 51 GI/2024 (1) 2 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY [PART II—SEC. 3(iii)] (आ) 09:00 बजे पूर्वाह्न से 04:00 बजे अपराह्न तक का समय, ऐसे समय के रूप में नियत करता है जिसके दौरान यदि आवश्यक हुआ तो, उक्त विनिर्दिष्ट तारीख को, मतदान होगा। [फा. सं. 318/रा.स.-दिल्ली/3/2024/(1)]

NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 2nd January, 2024

O.N. 06(E).— Whereas, the President of India has, by notification issued under Section 12 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951(43 of 1951) and published in the Gazette of India on 02nd January, 2024, has been pleased to call upon the elected members of the Legislative Assembly of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, to elect 1 (one) member to the Council of States to fill the vacancy in that House caused due to the retirement of Shri Narain Dass Gupta on 27th January, 2024 on the expiration of his term of office;

Now, therefore, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of Section 39 and Section 56 of the said Act, the Election Commission of India hereby-

(A) appoints, with respect to the said election;

(a) the 9th January, 2024 (Tuesday), as the last date for making nominations;

(b) the 10th January, 2024 (Wednesday), as the date for the scrutiny of the nominations;

(c) the 12th January, 2024 (Friday), as the last date for the withdrawal of candidatures;

(d) the 19th January, 2024 (Friday), as the date on which a poll shall, if necessary, be taken; and

(e) the 23nd January, 2024 (Tuesday), as the date before which the election shall be completed; and (B) fixes the hours from 09:00 am to 04:00 pm, as the hours during which the poll shall, if necessary, be taken on the date specified above for the election.
