इस समिति का कार्य पृथ्वी विज्ञान मंत्रालय और उसके प्रशासनिक नियंत्रणाधीन सभी अधीनस्थ कार्यालयों को संविधान में प्रतिस्थापित राजभाषा के प्रावधानों संबंधी विभिन्न मामलों तथा राजभाषा विभाग द्वारा जारी निदेशों/अनुदेशों के कार्यान्वयन में तथा सरकारी कामकाज में हिंदी के प्रगामी प्रयोग को बढ़ाने के बारे में सलाह देना होगा।
3. कार्यकाल
समिति का कार्यकाल सामान्य रूप से इसके गठन की तारीख से, तीन वर्ष का होगा, परंतु-
(i) जो संसद सदस्य समिति के सदस्य नामित किए गए हैं, वे संसद सदस्य न रहने पर इस समिति के सदस्य नहीं रह सकें गे।
(ii) समिति के सदस्य तब तक सदस्य बने रहेंगे, जब तक कि वे उन पदों पर हैं जिनके कारण वे समिति के सदस्य हैं। यदि कार्यकाल के बीच में स्थान रिक्त होता है तो उस स्थान पर नियुक्त सदस्य समिति के कार्यकाल की शेष अवधि के लिए ही सदस्य होगा।
(iii) विशेष परिस्थितियों में समिति का कार्यकाल पृथ्वी विज्ञान मंत्रालय द्वारा घटाया/बढ़ाया जा सकता है। 4. सामान्य
समिति का मुख्यालय नई दिल्ली में होगा और राजभाषा विभाग, गृह मंत्रालय के दिनांक 02.11.2023 के का.ज्ञा.
सं. 14013/01/2019-रा.भा.(नीति) के अनुसार समिति की सभी बैठकें नई दिल्ली में ही आयोजित किया जाना अपेक्षित है। 5. यात्रा भत्ता और अन्य भत्ते
समिति के गैर-सरकारी सदस्यों को समिति की बैठकों में भाग लेने के लिए राजभाषा विभाग, गृह मंत्रालय के दिनांक 22 जनवरी, 1987 के का.ज्ञा. सं.-II/22034/04/86-रा.भा.(क-2) में उल्लिखित दिशानिदेशों के अनुरूप और भारत सरकार द्वारा समय-समय पर यथासंशोधित निर्धारित दरों एवं नियमों के अनुसार यात्रा भत्ता और दैनिक भत्ता दिया जाएगाः

आदेश दिया जाता है कि इस संकल्प की प्रति समिति के सभी सदस्यों, सभी राज्य सरकारों एवं संघ राज्य क्षेत्रों के प्रशासन, प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय, मंत्रिमंडल सचिवालय, संसदीय कार्य मंत्रालय, लोक सभा सचिवालय, राज्य सभा सचिवालय, राष्ट्रपति सचिवालय, उप राष्ट्रपति सचिवालय, भारत के नियंत्रक एवं महालेखापरीक्षक नीति आयोग, संसदीय राजभाषा समिति, राजभाषा विभाग, संघ लोक सेवा आयोग और भारत सरकार के सभी मंत्रालयों तथा विभागों को भेजी जाए। यह भी आदेश दिया जाता है कि इस संकल्प को जनसाधारण की जानकारी के लिए भारत के राजपत्र में प्रकाशित किया जाए।

The functions of the Committee will be to render advice to the Ministry of Earth Sciences and all offices under its administrative control on matters relating to the provisions of the official languages enshrined in the Constitution and the directions/instructions issued by the Department of Official Language for the progressive use of Hindi in official work.
3. Tenure
The tenure of the Committee will ordinarily be three years from the date of its constitution, provided that:
(i) A Member of Parliament nominated to the Committee shall cease to be a member of the Committee as soon as he ceases to be a Member of Parliament;
(ii) The Official Members of the Committee will remain members of the Committee till they work in their respective posts. Any Member appointed against mid-term vacancy shall be a member for the remaining tenure of the Committee.
(iii) In special circumstances, the tenure of the committee may be curtailed/extended by the Ministry of Earth Sciences.
4. General
The Headquarters of the Committee will be at New Delhi and as per Department of Official Language O.M. No. 14013/01/2019-OL (Policy) dated 02.11.2023, all the meetings of the Committee are required to be organized in New Delhi only.
5. Travelling and other allowances
The non-official members of the Committee will be paid travelling and daily allowances for attending the meetings of the Committee as per the provisions contained in the Department of Official Language O.M. No. II/22034/04/86-OL(I-2) dated 22nd January, 1987 of the Department of Expenditure and in accordance with the rates and rules prescribed from time to time by the Government of India.
ORDER
Ordered that a copy of this Resolution be communicated to all members of the Committee, all State Governments and Union Territory Administrations, Prime Minister's Office, Cabinet Secretariat, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Lok Sabha Secretariat, Rajya Sabha Secretariat, President's Secretariat, Vice-President's Secretariat, Comptroller and Auditor General of India, Niti Ayog, all Ministries and Departments of the Government of India. It is also ordered that the Resolution be published in the Gazette of India for information to the public.
