NOTIFICATION BY THE AHMEDABAD COMMODITY ' EXCHANGED LTD., AHMEDABAD The approval of the Member, Forward Markets Commis- sion under Sub-Section (2) of section 9 A of the Forward Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1952 read with the Government of India, Ministry of Consumer Affairs and Public Distri- bution (Department of Consumer Affais) Notification dated ,12-7-2000 has been obtained on the 6th October, 2000 to the following amendments made to the Articles of the Ahmedabad Commodity Exchange Ltd , Ahmedabad.
AMENDMENTS
In the existing articles :—
I. The existing Article 67(2) (a) (i) shall be substi- tuted by the following :
'67 (2) (a) (i). Seven Directors who will be elected by the members or authorized representatives of members of the brokers panel;'
II. The existing Article 67(2) (a) (ii) shall be substi- tuted by the following :
'67(2)(a)(ii). Three Directors who will be elect- ed by the members or authorized representatives from Ready Deals panel'.
III. The existing Article 67(2)(9)(iv) shall be substi- tuted by the following :
'67(2) (a) (iv). Two Directors who will be elect- ed by the members or authorized representatives of members of crusher's panel'.,
IV. The existing Article 67(2) I'd) shall be substituted by the following :
'67 (2) (d). One Director who shall be elected by the Associate msmbers but he shall not hold the office of President and Vice-President*.

O. U62 dated 4th May, 19oO, has been obtained on 6th October, 2000 to the following amendments, made to the Articles of the Ahmedabad Com- modity Exchange Ltd., Ahmedabad.
AMENDMENTS
In the said MEMORANDUM AND ARTICLES :
I. After the existing clause 3 of the object clause of the .Memorandum of Association the new clause 3 (a) and 3 (b) shall be added.
'3 (a) to promote aad protect the trade in grams, pulses, cereals and other agriculture produces ana pro- ducts manufactured out of them and precious metals subject to the provisions of Forward Contracts (Re- gulation) Act 1952 and rales framed thereunder'.
'3 (b) To promote and protect the trade in finan- cial futures and for that purpose to establish sub- sidiary company if it deems necessary'.
U. After the existing clangs 24 of the object clausft af the Memorandum of Association a new clause- 24 (a) shall be added.

'24 (a) to establish, to provide and to administer a "Trade Guarantee Fund" and to guarantee the Trades executed thror"h Exchange."
III. The existing Article 7 (a) shall be substituted by the following.
'7 (a) any parson, mm. Hindu Joint Family, a limited company or a corporation having a place of business in the Union of India and intending to carry on business in Castorseed or any other Com- modity/CommodHes For trading in which the Ex- change may be recognised by the Central Government may by now applying to the Exchange in form prescribed by the Board from time to time and on payment of minimum deposit of Rs 15,000/- admission fee and annual subscription which may be fixed by the Board from time to time and on agree- ing to conform to the Memorandum of Association and Articles of Association and Rules, Regulations and Bye-laws of the Exchange which- may be from time being in force and subject to the application . being passed in accordance with these presents be elected as an Associate Member of the Exchange. No person who is minor or a person otherwise incom- petent to contract or a lunate or a person who is declared defaulter by any Exchange recognised by Government f'crn time to t;nf under the laws in that behalf of who has compounded with his or its creditors or who is adjudicated insolvent shall be elected as an Associate member.'
IV. The existing Article 7 (b) shall be substituted by the following.
'7 (b) Every Associate Member shall be required to maintain a minimum deposit of Rs. 8,000/- or Rs. 15,000/- whichever is applicable with the Exchange. This deposit will entitle him to trade in Castorseed in which the exchange is recognised by the Central Government. For trading in any additional commodities in which the Exchange may recognise to trade be shall be required to pay an additional deposit per each commodity as may be fixed by the Board.'
V. The existing Article 7(d) shall be substituted by the following :—•
'7 (d) the minimum deposit of Rs. 8,000/- or Rs. 15,000/- whichever is applicable shall be retained till he or it remains as an Associate member on the register of the Exchance. The same will be return- ed to him or it only after the Board is satisfied that he or it has ceased to be a member and after the amount of liability if any outstanding against him or it has been deducted therefrom.'
VI. The existing Article 9 fa) shall be substituted by the following :—-
'9 (a) Any person, firm, Hindu Joint Family, a limited company or a corporation having a p'ace of business in the Un:on of India and intending to carry on business in Castorseed or any other commodity/commodities for trading in which the Exchange may be recognized by tfie Central Govern- ment may by now arriving to the Exchange in form prescribed by the Board frcm t;'me to time and on paymentor iftftiiiftumtfeposftofRs, 50,
VII. The existing Article 9 (b) shall be substituted by the following z—
*9(b) EVery Ordinary member shall be required to maintain a minimum deposit of Rs. 20,000/- or Rs. 50,000/- whichever is applicable with the Exchange, This deposit wiH entitle him to trade in Castorseed in which the Exchange is recognised by Central Government. For trading in any.. additional commodities in which the Exchange -may recognise to trade shall be required to pay an additional deposit as may be fixed by the Board.'
VIH. The existing Article 9 (d) shall be substituted by the following :—
'9 (d) The minimum deposit of Rs. 20,000/- or Rs. 50,000/- whichever is applicable shall be re- tained till he or it remain as an Ordinary Member on the register of the Exchange. The same will be returned to him or it only after the Board is satis- fied that he or it has ceased to be a membei and after the amount of liability if any outstanding against him or it has been deducted therefrom.'
