सं० 17014/ 33/03-एस एंड एम- यह पाया गया हैं कि सरकार द्वारा वन क्षेत्रों में जनजातियों के लिए किए गए कुछ क हस्तक्षेप , जनजादियों के लिए लाभकारी नहीं पाए गए हैं । यह अति आवश्यक है कि जनजातियों के लाभ के लिए भूमि , पानी, वन तथा अन्य संसाधनों का विवेकपूर्ण तथा अधिकतम उपयोग किया जाए । वन क्षेत्रों में अनुसूचित जातियों के लाभ के लिए एक नवीन परियोजना तैयार करने के क्रम में केन्द्रीय सरकार एतद्वारा जनजातीय कार्य मंत्रालय के संयोजन के अंतर्गत निम्न- लिखित संघटन सहित एक विशेजज्ञ समिति गठित करती है:--

2. समिति जनजातियों के लाभ के लिए वन क्षेत्रों में उपलब्ध वैकल्पिक साधन प्रमाणित करने के लिए वास्तविक परियोजना तैयार करेगी । समिति परियोजना तथा उद्देश्य की प्राप्ति हेत अपनाए जाने वाले तरीके चुनेगी ।
3. समिति इनके गठन की तारीख से 6 माह के अंदर अपनी रिपोर्ट भारत मरकार को प्रस्तुत करेगी । 734

2. The Committee would draw up an actual project to demonstrate the alternatives available for the benefit of the tribals in forest areas . The Committee would choose the project and the methods to be adopted to achieve the objec- tive.

4. For drawing expertise on any matter relating to its ob- jective , the Committee may co -opt any such person for any of its meetings as may be deemed necessary .
5. For the purpose of TA/ DA, the non -official member (s ) of the Committee will be treated as équivalent to Grade I Officers of the Central Government entitled to travel by air .
