Whereas, it is notified for general information that Rit Lal Prasad Verma, Petitioner in abovementioned case has died on 15-1-2004 and as such in pursuant to Court's Order No. 62 dated 30-4-2004, and as per Section 112 of the Representation of the People Act , 1951 , it is notified that,
Anyperson, who might himself have been a petitioner may, within fourteen days of publication of this Notice, apply for substitution of his name as petitioner in this case.

आ.अ. 42.-लोक प्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम, 1950 ( 1950 का 43 ) की धारा 13 क की उप- धारा ( 1 ) द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए, भारत निर्वाचन आयोग पाँडिचेरी संघ राज्य सरकार के परामर्श से एतद्वारा श्रीमती एम. सथियावधि, आई.ए.एस. के स्थान पर श्री आर.आई. जयप्रकाश, आई.ए.एस. ( ए.जी.एम.यू.टी. - 87 ) को उनके कार्यभार ग्रहण करने की तारीख से आगामी आदेशों तक के लिए पाँडिचेरी संघ राज्य क्षेत्र के मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी के रूप में एतदद्वारा नामित करता है ।
2. श्री आर.आई. जयप्रकाश, पाँडिचेरी संघ राज्य सरकार के अधीन सभी पदभार या किसी कार्य के पदभारों को तत्काल सौंप देंगे या धारण करना समाप्त कर देंगे , जो कि वे ऐसा पदभार ग्रहण करने से पहले धारण कर रहे थे ।
3. श्री आर.आई. जयप्रकाश , मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी , पाँडिचेरी संघ राज्य के पद पर कार्य करते हुए पाँडिचेरी संघ राज्य सरकार के अधीन किसी भी प्रकार का कोई अतिरिक्त कार्यभार ग्रहण नहीं करेंगे सिवाय इसके कि उनको राज्य सचिवालय में निर्वाचन विभाग के प्रभारी, सरकार कासचिव पदाभिहित किया जायेगा ।

O.N. 42. In exercise of the power conferred by Sub- section ( 1 ) of Section 13A of the Representation of the People Act, 1950 (43 of 1950) the Election Commission of India in consultation with the Government of Pondicherry hereby nominates Shri R.1. Jaiprakash, IAS (AGMUT : 87 ) as the ChiefElectoral Officer for the Union Territory ofPondicherry with effect from the date he takes over charge and until further orders vice Smt. Mi. Sathiyavathy, IAS .
2. Sari R.I. Jaiprakash shall cease to hold and hand over forthwith the charge of all or any charges of workunder the Government of the Union Territory of Pondicherry, which he may be holding before such assumption of office..
3.-Shri R.I. Jaiprakash while functioning as the Chief Electoral Officer, Pondicherry shall not hold any additional charge whatsoever under the Government of the Union Territory of Pondicherry except that he should be designated Secretaryto the Government in charge of Election Department in the State Secretariat.
