सं. एफ. 9-6/97- यू.3--विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग अधिनियम, 1956 ( 1956 की 3 ) की धारा 3 द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए केन्द्रसरकार ने दिनांक 2-6-2000 की अपनी अधिसूचना सं. 9-6/97- यू-3 के माध्यम से धर्म सिंह देसाई प्रौद्यं गिकी संस्थान ( सम विश्वविद्यालय ) नादियाड को सम विश्वविद्यालय घोषित किया। गुजरात राज्य विधानमंडल के दिनांक 23 मार्च, 2005 को 2005 के गुजरात अधिनियम सं. 16 के माध्यम से गुजरात सरकार ने धर्म सिंह देसाई प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान (सम विश्वविद्यालय ) नादियाड को धर्म सिंह देसाई विश्वविद्यालय के नाम से राज्य विश्वविद्यालय का दर्जा दिया है और इसे राज्य सरकार की दिनांक 11 अप्रैल, 2005 की अधिसूचना सं. जीएच/एसएच/3/एपीबी - 2003-1610 -एस के माध्यम से अधिसूचित किया गया है ।

2. तदनुसार भारत सरकार धर्म सिंः देसाई प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान (सम विश्वविद्यालय ) नादियाड को राज्य विश्वविद्यालय का दर्जा देने की तारीख से उसके सम विश्वविद्यालय के स्तर को पद्द काती है ।

3. समिति के विचारार्थ विषय निम्नानुसार हैं :--
(झ ) रेलवे राजस्व में हानियां, और
(क) सामान्य स्वच्छता एवं पर्यावरण संबंधी स्थिति
(ञ ) यात्रियों के साथ शिष्टाचार सुनिश्चित करना
4. समितिका कार्यकाल दो वर्ष की अवधि या अगले आदेशों तक होगा । (ख ) पीने के पानी की व्यवस्था
5. रेलवे बोर्ड का यातायात वाणिज्य निदेशालय, नोडल निदेशालय होगा जो समिति से संपर्क बनाए रखेगा तथा समिति की विभिन्न सिफारिशों को समय से कार्यान्वित करने के लिए कार्रवाई करेगा । (ग ) यात्रियों को सूचना पहुंचाने के लिए मुहैया करवाई गई सुविधाएं जैसे पूछताछ कार्यालय , जन उद्घोषणा प्रणाली , संकेतक बोर्ड इत्यादि का अनुरक्षण
(घ ) बिअली, पंखे एवं अन्य बिजली सुविधाओं की व्यवस्थाकरना
6. उप निदेशक ( रेल दावा अधिकरण ) रेलवे बोर्ड समिति के सचिव होंगे ।

The Dharam Sinh Desai stute of Tecin logy (Deemed University) , Nadiad has beaverted by the Government of Gujarat into a State Univery, with its name as Dharam Sinh Desai University throughGujarat Act No. 16 of2005 dated 23rd March, 2005 of Gujarat State Legislature and notified vide State Government notification No. GH/ SH/3 /APB - 2003-1610 -S dated 11thApril, 2005.

RESOLUTION
No. ERB - 1/2004/23/25.-The Ministry ofRailways (Railway Board) have decided to reconstitute Passenger Amenities Committee at the national level to check the passenger amenities provided at railway stations and on trains .
2. The Committee will function under the Chairmanship of Shri Md. Ilyas Hussain, Ex- Minister, Government ofBihar .
2.1 Shri Uday Kant Chaudhary, Advocate , High Court of Patna will function as a Member to the Committee .
3. The Terms of refcrence of the Committee are as under : -
(a) General cleanliness and environmental condition.
(b) Drinking water arrangements .
(c) Facilities provided for dissemination of information to the passengers , like enquiry offices , public address system, indicator boards etc.
(d) Provision of lights, fans and other electrical amenities .
859 (e) Provision and maintenance of public conveniences like public lavatories, bathrooms , retiring rooms and waitinghalls.
(f) Provision of such conveniences as benches on platforms , wheel chairs , stretchers, luggage trolleys , etc.
(g) Reservation and booking in carriages and at station premises.
(h) Security of passerigers in carriages and at station premises.
(i) Losses in railway revenues , and
(1 ) Ensuring courtesy to passengers .
4.The tenure of the Committee will be for a period of two years ortill further orders .
5. The Traffic Commercial Directorate , Railway Board will be the nodal Directorate interacting with the Committee and processing its various recommendations for timely implementation.
6. Deputy Director ( RCT) , Railway Board will be the Secretary of the Committee .
