सं. आई-14011 /19/2005- आई.पी.एस.-1--भारतीय पुलिस सेवा (पदोन्नति द्वारा नियुक्ति) विनियम , 1955 के विनियम 7 के उप-विनियम ( 3 ) में नीति उपबंधों का प्रयोग करते हुए संघ लोक सेवा आयोग ने दिनांक 08.02.2006 को चयन समिति की दिनांक 01.08.2005 की बैठक में इसके द्वारा बनाई गई 2004 एवं 2005 की उन वार्षिक चयन सूचियों को अनुमोदित कर दिया है जिसमें भारतीय पुलिस सेवा के उत्तर प्रदेश संवर्ग में वर्ष 2004 एवं 2005 में तीन एवं तेरह मौलिक रिक्तियों को भरे जाने हेतु उत्तर प्रदेश राज्य पुलिस सेवा के तीन एवं तेरह अधिकारियों तथा दो ऐसे अधिकारियों का नाम शामिल किया गया है जोकि पहले तत्कालीन उत्तर प्रदेश पुलिस सेवा के सदस्य थे एवं प्रदेश के विभाजन पर बनाए गये उत्तरांचल राज्य को आवंटित किए गए थे परन्तु जो माननीय उच्चतम न्यायालय के उनको उत्तरांचल आवंटित किए जाने को स्थगित करने वाले अंतरिम आदेश के फलस्वरूप उत्तर प्रदेश में कार्य कर रहे हैं ।

रूप से भारतीय पुलिस सेवा के उत्तर प्रदेश संवर्ग में वर्ष 2005 की चयन सूची से माननीय उच्चतम न्यायालय में लंबित इन मामलों में आने वाले अंतिम परिणाम के अनुपालन में नियुक्त किए जाते हैं तो क्रम संख्या 12 एवं 13 पर उल्लिखित अधिकारियों को इस चयन सूची से इसलिए बाहर जाना होगा ताकि क्रम संख्या 9ए एवं 10ए पर उल्लिखित अधिकारियों की नियुक्तिहेतु रिक्ति बन सके ।
