सं. एफ. 9-37/2004-यू.3 ( ए) विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग अधिनियम , 1956 की धारा 3 द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए केन्द्र सरकार, विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग की सलाह पर, शोभित इन्स्टीट्यूट ऑफ इंजोनियरिंग एंड टेकनोलॉजी , मेरठ ( उत्तर प्रदेश ) को एतद्वारा अस्थाई रूप से पांच वर्ष की अवधि के लिये उपर्युक्त अधिनियम के प्रयोजनार्थ नई श्रेणी के तहत उपरोक्त इन्स्टीट्यूट के यू.पी. तकनीकी विश्वविद्यालय , लखनऊ ( उत्तर प्रदेश ) से असम्बद्ध होने की तारीख से सम विश्वविद्यालय के रूप में घोषित करती है । यह दर्जा विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग की विशेषज्ञ समिति की वार्षिक समीक्षा के शर्ताधीन होगा । पांच वर्ष की अवधि के पश्चात्विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग द्वारा नियुक्त व परीक्षा समिति इस इन्स्टीट्यूट को प्रदान किए गए सम विश्वविद्यालय के दर्जे की समीक्षा करेगी ।
( 2 ) यह घोषणा इस अधिसूचना के पृष्ठांकन की क्रम संख्या 5 में उल्लिखित शर्तों के अधीन है ।

No. F.9-37/2004 -U.3 (A) .-In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 , the Central Government, on the advice of the University Grants Commission (UGC ), hereby declare the Shobhit Institute of Engineering and Technology, Meerut (Uttar Pradesh) as Deemed to be University under De - novo category for the purpose of the aforesaidAct from the date the Institute disaffiliates itselffrom U.P. Technical University, Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) , provisionally, for a period of five years subject to an annual review by an Expert Committee ofUGC . After the period of five years , the 'Deemed to be University' status conferred upon the Institute shall be reviewed by a Review Committee to be appointed by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
2. This declaration is subject to conditions mentioned at S. No. 5 of the endorsement of this notification.
3. Government of India or the University Grants Commission will not provide any Plan or Non Plan grants to Shobhit Institute of Engineering and Technology , Meerut ( U.P. ) or any of its constituent institutions.
