विनियम ( 1 ) में निहित प्रावधानों के अनुसार, संघ लोक सेवा आयोग ने भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा वर्ष 2006 के दौरान भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा के छत्तीसगढ़ संवर्ग में वर्तमान 1 ( एक ) रिक्ति को भरने के लिए चयन समिति द्वारा दिनांक 28 दिसम्बर, 2006 को आयोजित अपनी बैठक में तैयार की गई छत्तीसगढ़ राज्य की गैर राज्य सिविल सेवा के सदस्य श्री आलोक अवस्थी ( जन्म तिथि : 17.07.1959 ) के नाम वाली वर्ष 2006 की चयन सूची का अनुमोदन कर दिया है ।
