सं. एफ.9-42/2001 - यू.3--विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग अधिनियम , 1956 की धारा 3 द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए केन्द्र सरकार, विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग की सलाह पर, ' संत लोंगोवाल इंजीनियरी और प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान ', लोंगोवाल , जिला संगरूर, पंजाब को एतद्वारा अस्थाई रूप से 5 वर्षों की अवधि के लिये उपर्युक्त अधिनियम के प्रयोनार्थ, सम विश्वविद्यालय के रूप में घोषित करती है । यह घोषणा उस तिथि से लागू होगी , जिस तिथि से ' संत लोंगोवाल इंजीनियरी और प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान' स्वयं को पंजाब तकनीकी विश्वविद्यालय, जालंधर से असंबद्ध घोषित करेगा, जिसके पश्चात् विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग एक विशेषज्ञ समिति की सहायता से इस संस्थान की पुनरीक्षा करेगा । 2. यह घोषणा इस अधिसूचना के पृष्ठांकन की क्रम संख्या 5 में उल्लिखित शर्तों के अधीन है ।

New Delhi , the 10th April 2007
No. F.9-42/ 2001 - U.3-In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, the Central Government , on the advice of the University Grants Commission (UGC) , hereby declare the 'Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology ( SLIET)' , Longowal , District Sangrur, Punjab as a 'Deemed - to - be - University' for the purpose of the aforesaid Act, provisionally for a period of five years with effect from the date the SLIET disaffiliates itself from the Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar , Punjab , after which the Institute will be reviewed by the UGC with the help of an Expert Committee .
2. This declaration is also subject to further conditions mentioned at Sl . No. 5 of the endorsement of this notification.
