नई दिल्ली-110003 , दिनांक 21 मई 2009 सं.6-1/2006- बी.पी. -2( अधिसूचना) पी.यू.सी.एल. बनाम भारत संघ की 2001 की रिट याचिका ( सिविल ) संख्या 196 में दिनांक 12.07.2006 के उच्चतम न्यायालय के आदेश के अनुसरण में सार्वजनिक वितरण प्रणाली के उचित कार्यकरण को प्रभावित कर रहीं कमियों की जांच करने के लिए दिनांक 01.12.2006 की समसंख्यक अधिसूचना द्वारा न्यायमूर्ति डी. पी. वधवा की अध्यक्षता में केन्द्रीय सतर्कता समिति का गठन किया गया था । केन्द्रीय सतर्कता समिति का कार्यकाल उच्चतम न्यायालय के निर्देशों के अनुसारदिनांक 08.05.2007 की समसंख्यक अधिसूचना द्वारा 31.08.2007 तक बढ़ाया गया था । केन्द्रीय सतर्कता समिति का कार्यकाल दिनांक 13.02.2008 की समसंख्यक अधिसूचना द्वारा 11.01.2008 से और 6 माह के लिए बढ़ाया गया था और 08.04.2008 की समसंख्यक अधिसूचना के जरिए उच्चतम न्यायालय के निर्देशों के अनुसार 01.09.2007 से 10.01.2008 तक की बीच की बढ़ाई गई अवधि को केन्द्रीय सतर्कता समिति के बढ़े हुए कार्यकाल के रूप में माना गया था । उच्चतम न्यायालय ने दिनांक 11.07.2008 के निर्देशों के अनुसार दिनांक 18.07.2008 की समसंख्यक अधिसूचना के तहत केन्द्रीय सतर्कता समिति का कार्यकाल अप्रैल, 2009 तक बढ़ा दिया गया था ।

भारत के उच्चतम न्यायालय ने 17.04.2009 के अपने आदेश के जरिए केन्द्रीय सतर्कता समिति द्वारा रिपोर्ट प्रस्तुत करने के समय को बढ़ाकर दिसम्बर, 2009 तक कर दिया है । अतः केन्द्रीय सतर्कता समिति का कार्यकाल दिसम्बर, 2009 तक बढ़ाया जाता है ।
