आ.अ. 44. लोक प्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम , 1950 ( 1950 का 43 ) की धारा 13-क की उप - धारा ( 1 ) द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए भारत निर्वाचन आयोग अण्डमान एवं निकोबार द्वीप समूह संघ राज्य क्षेत्र प्रशासन के परामर्श से एतद्वारा श्री वेद प्रकाश , आई.ए.एस. (ए.जी.एम.यू.: 1986) को उनके कार्यभार ग्रहण करने की तारीख से अगले आदेश तक श्री संजीव खैरवार , आई.ए.एस. के स्थान पर अण्डमान एवं निकोबार द्वीप समूह संघ राज्य क्षेत्र का मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी के रूप में नामित करता है ।
2. श्री वेद प्रकाश को अविलम्ब अण्डमान एवं निकोबार द्वीप समूह संघ राज्य क्षेत्र प्रशासन के अंतर्गत धारित सभी पदों को छोड़ देना होगा जो उन्होंने कार्य ग्रहण करने से पहले धारण किए हुए थे ।
3. श्री वेद प्रकाश अण्डमान एवं निकोबार द्वीप समूह के मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी के रूप में कार्य किए जाते समय अण्डमान एवं निकोबार द्वीप समूह संघ राज्य क्षेत्र सचिवालय के निर्वाचन विभाग के भार सहित संघ राज्य क्षेत्र के प्रशासन के सचिव नामित किए जाने के अलावा अण्डमान एवं निकोबार द्वीप समूह संघ राज्य क्षेत्र के अंतर्गत कोई अतिरिक्त कार्यभार ग्रहण नहीं करेंगे ।

ELECTION COMMISSION OF INDIA
New Delhi , the 16th November , 2009
O. N. 44. In exercise of the powers conferred by sub - section ( 1) of Section 13 -A of the Representation of the People Act , 1950 (43 of 1950) , the Election Commission of India in consultation with the Administration of the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands , hereby nominates Sh . Ved Prakash , IAS ( AGMU : 1986) as the Chief Electoral Officer for the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands with effect from the date he takes over charge and until further order vice Sh . Sanjeev Khirwar , IAS .
2. Shri Ved Prakash shall cease to hold and hand over forthwith the charge of all or any charges of work under the Administration of the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands , which he may be holding before such assumption ofoffice.
3. Shri Ved Prakash while functioning as the Chief Electoral Officer , Andaman and Nicobar Islands shall not hold any additional charge whatsoever under the Administration of the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands except that he should be designated Secretary to the Administration of the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands in charge of Election Department in the Union Territory Secretariat.
