RESOLUTION
No. 2(4)/2013-SD-I.—The Government of India have decided to constitute an Expert Committee under the Chairmanship of Shri Sunil Kumar, IAS(Retd.), Vice Chairman, State Planning Commission, Chhattisgarh, to suggest a Road Map for upgradation of Biju Patnaik National Steel Institute (BPNSI) to a National Centre of Excellence. The composition of the Expert Committee is as follows :—

2. The Terms of Reference (ToR) of the Committee are as follows :
i) To suggest a roadmap for promotion of BPNSI as an exclusive Iron & Steel Institute of national importance with the status of a university
ii) To suggest a clear vision of its role as a Human Resources Development Institution.

iv) To make recommendations in respect of the compositions of the Governing Body, the Academic Council and proposed academic programmes with emphasis on Research and Development.
v) To estimate the Human Resources needs of the Institute including the Faculty, Technical Support and Administrative Staff.
vi) To examine the issues of infrastructure requirement including land, building, necessary public amenities and utility services.
vii) To examine the fund requirement and methods of funding.
3. The Committee will submit its report within three months.
ORDER
ORDERED that a copy of the resolution be communicated to all the members of the Expert Committee.
ORDERED also that the resolution be published in the Gazette of India for general information.
