No. R.S. 18/1/2/2016/71-Perl.—Consequent upon conclusion of the disciplinary proceeding initiated against Shri Sundip Mesra, Executive Officer (under suspension), on the charges of tampering of official records and forgery, the Disciplinary Authority, the Hon'ble Chairman, Rajya Sabha has, under Rule 14 of the Rajya Sabha Secretariat (Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 1957, read with Rule 11 of the Central Civil Services (Control, Classification and Appeal) Rules, 1965, imposed the major penalty of 'Compulsory Retirement from Service' on Shri Sundip Mesra, Executive Officer (under suspension) vide his order dated 18.07.2017.

2. Further, in terms of Rule 40(1) of the Central Civil Services (Pension) Rules, 1972, the Disciplinary Authority, the Hon'ble Chairman, Rajya Sabha has granted him compulsory retirement pension and gratuity equal to full compensation pension and gratuity admissible to him on the date of his compulsory retirement.

3. Shri Sundip Mesra, Executive Officer (under suspension), accordingly, stands compulsorily retired from service with effect from the afternoon of 18.07.2017. He is granted full compensation pension and gratuity as admissible to him on 18.07.2017.
