[भाग I—खण्ड 1
23. राजभाषा विभाग, भारत सरकार का एक प्रतिनिधि जो कि संयुक्त सचिव के रैंक से नीचे न हो।
राज्य सभा के माननीय सभापति समिति के अध्यक्ष हैं। 2. कार्य
समिति का कार्य सरकारी कामकाज में हिन्दी के प्रगामी प्रयोग के बारे में राज्य सभा सचिवालय को सलाह देना होगा । एक कलैन्डर वर्ष में समिति की कम से कम दो बैठकें होंगी।
3. कार्यकाल
पुनर्गठित समिति का कार्यकाल इसके गठन की तारीख से तीन वर्ष की अवधि के लिए होगा, बशर्ते कि :-- (क) राज्य सभा के सदस्य, जो समिति के सदस्य हैं, राज्य सभा का सदस्य न रहने पर इस समिति के सदस्य भी नहीं रहेंगे।
(ख) समिति के पदेन सदस्य उस समय तक सदस्य बने रहेंगे जब तक वे उन पदों पर हैं, जिनके कारण वह समिति के सदस्य हैं।
(ग) यदि किसी सदस्य के त्यागपत्र अथवा मृत्यु आदि के कारण समिति में कोई स्थान रिक्त होता है तो उसके स्थान पर नियुक्त किए गए सदस्य का कार्यकाल तीन वर्ष के कार्यकाल की अवशिष्ट अवधि के लिए होगा।
4. सामान्य
राज्य सभा सचिवालय के संयुक्त सचिव (ई. एंड टी.) समिति की बैठकों का समन्वय करेंगे तथा राज्य सभा के सचिवालय का राजभाषा प्रभाग, समिति को सचिवालयिक सहायता प्रदान करेगा।
5. यात्रा भत्ते तथा अन्य भत्ते
समिति की बैठकों में भाग लेने के लिए अशासकीय सदस्यों को राजभाषा विभाग के दिनांक 22 जनवरी, 1987 के कार्यालय ज्ञापन संख्या II/20034/4/86-रा.भा. (क-2) में अंतर्विष्ट दिशा-निर्देशों के अनुरूप भारत सरकार समय-समय पर यथा-संशोधित निर्धारित दरों एवं नियमों के अनुसार यात्रा भत्ता और दैनिक भत्ता दिया जाएगा।

संकल्प
सं. 5(1)-बी (पी.डी.)/2017--आम जानकारी के लिए यह घोषित किया जाता है कि वर्ष 2017-2018 के दौरान सामान्य भविष्य निधि तथा उसी प्रकार की अन्य निधियों के अभिदाताओं की कुल जमा रकमों पर दी जाने वाली ब्याज दर 1 अक्तूबर, 2017 से 31 दिसम्बर 2017 तक 7.8% (सात दशमलव आठ प्रतिशत) होगी। यह दर 1 अक्तूबर, 2017 से लागू होगी। संबंधित निधियां निम्नलिखित हैंः--
1. सामान्य भविष्य निधि (केन्द्रीय सेवाएं)।
2. अंशदायी भविष्य निधि (भारत)
3. अखिल भारतीय सेवा भविष्य निधि।
4. राज्य रेलवे भविष्य निधि।

2. Functions
The functions of the Samiti will be to advise the Rajya Sabha Secretariat regarding progressive use of Hindi in official work. At least two meetings of the Samiti may be held in a calendar year.

The term of the reconstituted Samiti will be three years from the date of formation provided that :—
(a) Members of Rajya Sabha who are the members of the Samiti shall cease to be members as soon as they cease to be Members of Rajya Sabha.
(b) Ex-officio Members of the Samiti shall continue as Members as long as they hold the office by virtue of which they are Members of the Samiti.
(c) If a vacancy arises, on the Samiti due to resignation or death of a Member, the Member appointed in that capacity shall hold the office for the residual period of the tenure of three years.
4. General
Joint Secretary (E&T) Rajya Sabha Secretariat will co-ordinate the meetings of the Samiti and the Rajbhasha Prabhag of the Rajya Sabha Secretariat will provide secretarial assistance to the Samiti.
5. Travelling and other allowances
The non-official members will be paid Travelling Allowance and Daily Allowance for attending the meetings of the Samiti at the prescribed rates as amended from time to time by the Government of India and instructions contained in O.M. No.II/20034/4/86-O.L.(A-2) dated the 22nd January, 1987 of the Department of Official Language.

RESOLUTION
No. 5(1)-B(PD)/2017—It is announced for general information that during the year 2017-2018, accumulations at the credit of subscribers to the General Provident Fund and other similar funds shall carry interest at the rate of 7.8% (Seven point eight per cent) w.e.f. 1st October, 2017 to 31st December, 2017. This rate will be in force w.e.f. 1st October, 2017. The funds concerned are :—
1. The General Provident Fund (Central Services).
2. The Contributory Provident Fund (India).
3. The All India Services Provident Fund.
4. The State Railway Provident Fund.
5. The General Provident Fund (Defence Services).
6. The Indian Ordnance Department Provident Fund.
